South Charlotte Panthers

TY LINTON 2010 Charlotte Christian was selected to receive the Silver Slugger award at the Westminister Academy Sunshine Classic in Miami, Florida. The Charlotte Christian Knights won the tournament championship. Ty went 10 for 14 for the event with two doubles, a triple and a home run.

JOSH GREENE 2010 York went 2 for 2 with a double and walked twice. Once on base Josh stole 6 bases including a steal of home.

BRETT LANG 2011 Ardrey Kell hit 5 for 7 with 4 RBIs as the Ardrey Kell Knights completed the week 3-0.

Fresh off the basketball court as a member of the NC State 4A champion Mt. Tabor Spartans; BRADLEY MORTON 2011 went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run, drove in 3 runs and stole a base in the Spartans victory over Reynolds.

Union County High School has begun the season 5-2. 2011 ALEX PRIDEMORE has a win and a save on the mound and is 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs at the plate. Alex has struck out 12 in 7 innings pitched.

RYAN BUTLER 2010 Ardrey Kell; KURT SEMENIUK 2010 Providence; TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian and JESSE BREWER 2010 Rock Hill all picked up victories on the mound in week 3.

BLAINE LEWIS 2011 Mallard Creek finished the week 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and a game winning RBI as the Mavericks split games in week 3.

TYLER ALBERTS (2010) West Forsyth hit a game tying home run in the bottom of the seventh inning against West Rowan. The Titans went on to win the game to take their record to 2-2.

Junior speedster JOSH GREENE (2010) York collected 2 hits and 2 stolen bases in the Cougars opening game victory.

PETER HENDEL (2011) Weddington went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs in a victory over Sun Valley.

KURT SEMENIUK (2010) (1-1) Providence; RYAN BUTLER (2010) (1-0) Ardrey Kell and TAYLOR REEVES (2010) (1-0) West Henderson all collected their first wins on the mound in week 2. TYLER McCARTHY (2011) (2-0) Mallard Creek picked up his second win of the season over JM Robinson.

JAKE WATSON (2010) Charlotte Chrisitian helped lead the Knights to two wins going 5 for 6 at the plate with 3 doubles.

TY LINTON (2010) Charlotte Christian; TAYLOR REEVES and MAVERICK MILES (2010) South Rowan each hit their second home run on the season. 

NOAH HOLMES (2010) East Rowan collected 2 doubles in the Mustangs conference win over West Irdell.

2009 High School baseball officially got underway for all SCP players this past week with the opening of the North Carolina season. RAFAEL GONZALEZ (2010) Cypress Bay HS got an early start in Florida and are currently 8-0 on the season. Raffy has begun the season on fire at the plate in leading the Lightning team offensively. He has smashed 3 home runs and is hitting a blistering .600 to start the season.

MAVERICK MILES (2010) South Rowan and recent High Point University commit started the season about as hot as it gets in leading his team to a 8-1 victory over county rival North Rowan. Mav collected a single, double, triple and home run to "Hit for the Cycle" in game one.

 In addition to Maverick; Panther players hitting home runs in week 1 were BRIAN HOLBERTON (2010) Myers Park; TY LINTON (2010) Charlotte Christian; JAKE FINCHER (2011) Butler and XANDER MADDOX (2012) Charlotte Latin.

LOGAN RATLEDGE (2011) Ardrey Kell and TREY LANEY (2010) Charlotte Christian both had "Game Winning RBI's" in one run wins respectively for their teams.

TYLER McCARTHY (2011) Mallard Creek pitched his team to a game 1 victory over Hickory Ridge and PATRICK McMAHON (2010) Butler earned a complete game shut out victory over Richmond Senior.

2010 Grad South Charlotte Panther MAVERICK MILES has committed to attend school and play baseball at HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY. The Panthers are a member of the Big South Conference. Mav will be helping lead South Rowan High School this season in the competitive CPC 3A Conference.

Congratulations to Maverick and his parents Jim and Amy.

 SCP 2006 NICK FOGLEMAN; PFIEFFER COLLEGE has been voted the Conference Carolina 2009 "PITCHER OF THE YEAR" in addition to being a CC selection to the ALL CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM. Nick finished the regular season with a 9-1 record and has a 1.85 earned run average. He has pitched 77 innings and has 80 strike outs to his record.

SCP 2007 COREY NORMAN; SURRY CC has been awarded the 2009 Coaches Award. Corey has accepted a scholarship to continue his education and baseball career at CATAWBA COLLEGE next year.

SCP 2007 PRESTON SHUEY; FRANCIS MARION was voted to the Peach Belt Conference All Tournament Team. Francis Marion swept the tournament for their first Peach Belt Tournament Championship. The win assures the nationally ranked Patriots a spot in the upcoming NCAA Division II play offs. SCP 2006 ERIK SOMMERVILLE is also a member of the Patriots and earned the win on the mound in their semi final win over UNCP. Shuey helped lead the Patriots to their fiftenth straight victory. In the final game his offensive box score did not tell the whole story. In a close 4-2 game Preston accounted for two of the Patriot runs; the first being a give it up grounder to second for an RBI and the second a hustle play where the right fielder dropped a deep fly; Preston hustling all the way rounded second and the throw to third was wild and he came around to score on a two error play.
