HIGH SCHOOL SEASON WEEK 6

KYLE KESSLER 2010 Providence HS (1-0) earned his first win of the season with a complete game victory over Providence Day in the Jack Sink Easter Tournament. Kyle gave up 1 earned run and spread out 4 hits while striking out 2.

Other Panther mound victories this week were: RYAN BUTLER 2010 Ardrey Kell (3-0); ERIC BRENK 2010 Concord (3-2); PATRICK McMAHON 2010 Butler (3-1) and LOU TROSCH 2011 East Meck (2-1). Lou struck out 11 in a complete game win in the Carolina Classic.

JAKE WATSON 2010 Charlotte Christian helped lead the Knights to an exciting win over Ardrey Kell in the Jack Sink Tournament. In his first at bat Jake laced a triple into the left field corner and scored the games first run. With the score still 1-0; Jake laid down a perfect bunt,  proceeded to third on an overthrow and then scored the games second run. The final was an exciting 2-0 victory for the Knights with Jake scoring both runs.

Other Panthers having big games at the plate in week 6 were: ZACH LAX 2011 Marvin Ridge 4 for 4 in a win over Sun Valley. TYLER ALBERTS 2010 West Forsyth 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI in a win over North Forsyth. BRETT LANG 2011 Ardrey Kell 2 for 4 with an RBI in a close loss versus Providence Day. LOGAN RATLEDGE 2011 Ardrey Kell 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored in a win over Latin.

DAVID DANIELS 2011 East Meck hit his first home run of the season in the Carolina Classic.

BRIAN HOLBERTON 2010 Myers Park extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a hit in each game of the Jack Sink Tournament.

TREY LANEY COMMITS TO WESTERN CAROLINA !

2010 TREY LANEY; IF Charlotte Christian; has committed to attend school and play baseball at WESTERN CAROLINA UNIVERSITY in 2010. Trey will join the Catamounts in 2010. He will play this summer and fall with the SC Panther 2010 team.

Congratulations Trey and his parents; Darrell and Lynn.

LOGAN RATLEDGE 2011 Ardrey Kell HS went 3 for 3 with a double and NOAH HOLMES 2010 East Rowan HS went 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs in games this week.

Big games? How about BIG WEEKS at the plate. JAKE FINCHER 2011 Butler HS was 5 for 6 with 2 doubles and a game winning RBI. RAFAEL GONZALEZ 2010 Cypress Bay HS went 8 for 10 with 3 doubles and a home run. ALEX TOMASOVICH 2010 Fort Mill HS was 5 for 11 with a double and a triple. TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian went 5 for 8 with a home run and 4 RBIs. ERIC BRENK 2010 Concord HS was 3 for 6 with 2 doubles.

BRIAN HOLBERTON 2010 Myers Park HS extended a 13 game hitting streak and went 5 for 9 with 3 doubles and 6 RBIs.

KURT SEMENIUK 2010 Providence HS won his fourth game of the season with a complete game shut out with 7 strike outs. Kurt is now 4-1 on the season and leads the SW4A conference in victories.

TANNER VOGLER 2011 Mt. Tabor HS; BRETT LANG 2011 Ardrey Kell HS; JACKSON CAMPANA 2012 Providence HS; TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian and NOAH HOLMES 2010 East Rowan HS all hit their first home runs of the season. TAYLOR REEVES 2010 West Henderson hit his second. RAFAEL GONZALEZ 2010 Cypress Bay HS hit his fourth.

Panthers earning wins on the mound included TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian (3-0); ALEX PRIDEMORE 2011 Union HS (3-0); TAYLOR REEVES 2010 West Henderson (2-0); PATRICK McMAHON 2010 Butler HS (2-1) and JESSE BREWER 2010 Rock Hill HS (2-1). ERIC BRENK 2010 Concord HS won 2 games in relief to take his record to (2-0).

2010 JOSH GREENE; York HS has 21 steals on the season.

JUSTIN LYKINS 2009 has signed a letter of intent to attend school and play baseball for the SPARTANBURG METHODIST PIONEERS. SMC is currently ranked #5 in the nation in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Congratulations Justin.

HIGH SCHOOL SEASON WEEK 4

KURT SEMENIUK 2010 Providence High School picked up his third win of the season in week 4. He entered a tie game with conference rival Ardrey Kell in the seventh inning and shut out the Knights for three innings to earn the win. Kurt struck out six, walked none and spread out 2 singles in the victory.

 Myers Park junior catcher BRIAN HOLBERTON went 6 for 8 for the week with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs to help lead the Mustangs to a 8-0 record for the season.

 LOGAN RATLEDGE 2011 Ardrey Kell High School went 4 for 5 at the plate with 2 runs scored and an RBI in the Knights loss to Providence in week 4.

Sophomore ALEX PRIDEMORE pitched a complete game shutout; striking out 11 of the 15 batters he faced in winning his second game of the season for Union County High School.

PETER HENDEL 2011 Weddington High School earned his first win with a 6 inning start. He gave up 5 hits and no runs in the conference victory over South Meck.
