South Charlotte Panthers

In the Florida state 6A play offs RAFAEL GONZALEZ 2010 and the Cypress Bay Lightning won their District and first round play off game before being eliminated in the semi finals by Douglas HS. Rafael was 3 for 3 in the District Championship game. In their quarter final win he drove in the game winning RBI off a home run. Then in their semi finals loss to end the season, Raffy kept the Lightening in the game with a Grand Slam home run; his second of the season.

BRIAN HOLBERTON 2010 Myers Park; finished week 10 going 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and a single that hit the top of the right field fence at Ardrey Kell.

TY LINTON 2010 Charlotte Christian; hit two home runs in a victory over Country Day. Ty's first was a tape measure shot that hit Sardis Road well behind the left field fence.

Butler SS JAKE FINCHER 2011 finished the week 4 for 7 with a double to help keep his .525 season batting average over .500.

In a key conference victory over Lake Norman; PRESTON TROUTMAN 2010 executed offensively in giving the East Rowan Mustangs a 3-0 lead entering the sixth. Preston drove in the first run with a two out single; advanced the second run via a sacrifice bunt and scored the third after drawing a walk. 2010 NOAH HOLMES roped a hard double to the fence and started a rally killing 5-4-3 double play in the game. The Mustangs went on to score 3 in the seventh for a 6-0 win.

DAVID DANIELS 2011 and JACKSON CAMPANA 2012 each went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI for opposing teams in the Providence 2-0 extra innings win over East Meck.

JAKE WATSON 2010 Charlotte Christian has been on a tear of late going 12 for 17 at the plate as the Christian Knights continue their winning streak.

BIG 7's - TY LINTON 2010 Charlotte Christian and TAYLOR REEVES 2010 West Henderson both had games in week 9 where they drove in 7 runs! Ty went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and his seventh home run of the year in a victory over conference rival Providence Day. Taylor went 3 for 3 to drive in 7 in week 9.

TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian/Western Carolina turned in a big game as well going 3 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs in a win over Providence Day.

Concord High School knocked off Parkwood behind SS ERIC BRENK's 2010; 2 for 2 with 2 walks an RBI and 2 runs scored effort at the plate. Eric hit a home run later in the week.

MAVERICK MILES 2010 S. Rowan had 2 home runs and 4 RBI's in a South Rowan loss to West Iredell. SCOTT LEONARD 2011 West Stokes went 4 for 6 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs in two week 9 victories.

Weddington's PETER HENDEL 2011; went 2 for 3 with a home run in the Warriors loss to Marvin Ridge. His bat stayed hot with a second home run versus Butler HS.

JACOB "BULL" BARBER 2011 Davie County hit a long home run versus Mt. Tabor although BRADLEY MORTON and the Spartans came out on the winning end of the game behind Bradleys 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run of his own and 4 RBIs.

JESSE BREWER 2010 Rock Hill pitched a complete game victory in a must win play off game versus Greenwood. Jesse gave up two runs on three hits while striking out 9.  Jesse was recently voted onto the SC Region IV All Region team.

JAKE FINCHER 2011 Butler HS went 7 for 8 at the plate with 2 doubles in week 8; helping lead the Bulldogs to conference wins over Myers Park and East Meck.

JESSE BREWER 2010 Rock Hill HS pitched a complete game victory over conference rival Spring Valley to help the Bearcats to their first conference championship in 20 years. Jesse scattered 3 hits and struck out 4 in the win.

Charlotte Christian IF TREY LANEY hit his second home run in a win over Cannon and BRETT LANG 2011 Ardrey Kell his second in a win over Independence.

PATRICK McMAHON (4-2) 2010 Butler HS and KURT SEMENIUK (5-2) 2010 Providence HS each earned complete game victories in week 8.

PETER HENDEL (2-2) 2011 Weddington HS scattered 3 hits over 6 innings to take the victory over South Meck. Peter also went 2 for 3 at the plate in a win over East Meck.

LOGAN RATLEDGE 2011 Ardrey Kell went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs in a win over Richmond and BLAINE LEWIS 2011 Mallard Creek went 3 for 4 in week 8 games for the Mavericks.

ZACH LAX 2011 Marvin Ridge is in the top 10 of Union County High School stats with a .417 batting average; 20 runs scored; 12 stolen bases and 25 hits.

The weather and SCP bats heated up in week 7 as the high school season begins to wind down into the final weeks before post season play.

RAFAEL GONZALEZ 2010 Cypress Bay HS went 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and a GRAND SLAM to help lead the Lightning to 2 conference victories in week 7.

BLAINE LEWIS 2011 Mallard Creek HS hit 3 home runs in week 7 plus a double going 6 for 8 with 8 RBI's. Blaine hit 2 of his home runs in the same game, leading the Mavs to a 3-2 victory. JACKSON CAMPANA 2012 Providence HS also hit 3 home runs including a GRAND SLAM while driving in 10 runs. Jackson hit a home run in 3 consecutive games.

Other Panthers hitting home runs in week 7 were TYLER ALBERTS with 2 in the Winston Salem/Forsyth County Tournament; TREY LANEY 2010 Charlotte Christian/Western Carolina; his second and KURT SEMENIUK 2010 Providence HS; his first.

TY LINTON 2010 Charlotte Christian hit 2 home runs including a game winning walk off to take his season total to 6.

On the pitching front; TYLER McCARTHY 2011 (3-1) Mallard Creek HS pitched 6 innings of 1 hit ball for his third victory of the year.

ERIC BRENK 2010 (4-2) Concord HS pitched the Spiders to a victory over Observer Sweet 16 #1 Mt. Pleasant in a complete game victory at the Intimidator Classic. Eric also had 2 doubles in the tournament.

In individual game action JAKE FINCHER 2011 Butler HS went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's; ZACH LAX 2011 Marvin Ridge went 2 for 4 to keep his average over .475 for the season. LOGAN RATLEDGE 2011 Ardrey Kell 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's, followed by a 3 for 3 game. PETER HENDEL 2011 Weddington 2 for 5 in a doubleheader with 2 doubles. BRADLEY MORTON 2011 Mt. Tabor went 3 for 4 then 2 for 3 with a double and TANNER VOGLER 1 for 2 with the game winning RBI in the Winston Salem/Forsyth County Spring Tournament to help lead the Spartans to the championship. JAKE WATSON went 2 for 2 wih an RBI.

C.A. CLAYTON 2009 Providence High School has committed to attend school and play baseball for the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA in ASHEVILLE. C.A. will join the Bulldogs following his senior year with the Providence Panthers. He will be joining SCP alumni JUSTIN SCHUMER in Asheville who will be in his senior season next year.
