MLB 2009 DRAFT
LUKE BARD 2009 Charlotte Christian/Georgia Tech was the 498th player selected during the 16th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox.
RICHIE SHAFFER 2009 Providence HS/Clemson University was the 757th player selected during the 25th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

JORDAN HUDSON SIGNS WITH UNCC
2009 JORDAN HUDSON; West Davidson High School signed to attend school and play baseball at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA CHARLOTTE this fall. Jordan will join SCP teammates Corey Roberts; Shane Basen and Corbin Shive with the 49ers in 2009.

BRIAN HOLBERTON COMMITS
2010 BRIAN HOLBERTON committed to attend school and play baseball at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA following his high school career.
Brian will join fellow 2010 SCP Ty Linton for the Tar Heels in 2011. Congratulations to Brian; his parents Bob and Tobie, twin brother Eric and sisters Shannon and Laurel.
TY LINTON COMMITS
TY LINTON 2010 Charlotte Christian has committed to attend school and play both football and baseball for the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA following his senior season at Christian.
Ty was voted NCISAA All State in both sports this season as the Knights captured NCISAA State 3A titles in each.
Congratulations to Ty and his parents Jim and Marla.
HIGH SCHOOL SEASON WEEK 11
Charlotte Christian (30-3) won the NCISAA State 3A Championship in week 11. The Knights entered the play offs as the #1 seed and swept three games to win the crown. The Knights were led by CF TY LINTON 2010 at the plate. Ty finished the play offs 6 for 8 with 2 home runs; 2 doubles and a triple driving in 8 runs including the championship game winner when was hit in the back with the bases loaded. 2B TREY LANEY 2010 was 2 for 2 with a home run in the Knights first finals game victory and SS JAKE WATSON 2010 drove in the game winning run in their semi final win and then went 4 for 7 with 4 runs scored in the championship series. Baseball America ranked Christian as the #21 high school team in the nation prior to their championship run.
2010 RAFAEL GONZALEZ; Cypress Bay; finished the season as one of the top hitters in Florida. Rafael hit an even .500; going 39 for 78 with 8 home runs; 14 doubles and driving in 49 runs for the Lightning.
2011 TYLER McCARTHY (4-2); Mallard Creek HS; 2010 PATRICK McMAHON (5-2); Butler HS and 2010 PRESTON TROUTMAN (3-1); East Rowan HS all picked up first round victories on the mound in NC State Play Off action.
2010 BRIAN HOLBERTON; Myers Park HS was voted the "Most Outstanding Player" in the SW4A Tournament as the Mustangs won the season ending event. He finished the tournament 6 for 8 with 4 doubles and threw out 3 of 3 potential base stealers in the games. Brian led the Mustangs to a first round win in NC play off action with a HR and 2 RBIs later in week 11.
2011 PETER HENDEL; Weddington HS pitched 5 innings; giving up 2 runs and hit a double to help lead Weddington to a first round upset of #1 seed Watauga in the NC 4A play offs.
2010 KURT SEMENIUK; Providence HS hit a home run to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 win in week 1 play off action.
