PERFECT GAME WWBA 16U

The South Charlotte Panther 2014's reeled off 11 wins in a row and advanced to the Championship Game of the 2012 Perfect Game World Wood Bat Association 16U Championship.  In the field of 240 teams from across the nation the Junior Cats swept through pool play with a 7-0 record and earned the tournament #3 seed after giving up only 5 runs.

In championship play the Panthers won three games in 12 hours to advance to the final 4 at Georgia Tech. The Cats faced off versus pre tournament favorite and #2 seed FTB Chandler in the semi final contest. The Junior Cats scored early and added to the lead to take a 6-2 lead into the seventh inning. Ryder Ryan in relief of starter Jon Stires shut down any FTB threats to earn the win. In their 12th game of the week and 6th in 48 hours the Panther bats were silenced and in spite of an outstanding game by starting pitcher Corey Sikes who took a 2 hit shut out into the seventh the Panthers gave up a fateful unearned run and failed to score in the last half of the seventh to take a 0-1 loss. Individual game box scores are available on GameChanger.

Eight Named to the PG WWBA 16U All Tournament Team. RYDER RYAN; JOSH CRUMP; BRADLEY BROWN; ALEX DESTINO; HARRIS YETT; BAILEY OBER; COREY SIKES; DOUG NORMAN and DREW LOEPPRICH.
