RYAN RICKEY SIGNS WITH USC LANCASTER

 SCP 2015 RYAN RICKEY - North Buncombe High School has signed to attend college and play baseball at the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA LANCASTER. Ryan will join the Lancers following his senior season at North Buncombe this spring.

Congratualtions to Ryan and his mother Kelley Temofonte; father Jason and sister Taryn.

 BRETT SHAPCOTT SIGNS WITH THE GUILFORD QUAKERS

 

SCP 2015 BRETT SHAPCOTT - Hough High School has signed to attend college and play baseball at GUILFORD COLLEGE. Brett will join the Quakers following his senior season at Hough High School where he will help lead the Huskies this spring.

Congratulations to Brett; his parents Bill and Beth and sister Samantha.

Panthers on the Gridiron

 PANTHERS ON THE HIGH SCHOOL GRIDIRON  

 SCP 2016 CHRIS COX and the East Lincoln Colts (16-0) came back and held on for a 14-13 victory over Washington High School to capture the North Carolina State 2AA CHAMPIONSHIP. Chris was credited with some key blocks as well as a diving catch to set up one of the two Colt scores. Chris played multiple roles for the Colts including tight end; H back; fullback and back up QB this season.

SCP 2016 NICK BRUNO and his Charlotte Catholic Cougars (14-2) advanced to the NC State 4A Finals and came up just short in a loss to New Bern.

SCP 2015 JOSH LADOWSKI awarded the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year

Josh's stellar senior season ended in the NC 4AA Western Finals with a 48-41 loss to Mallard Creek. For the season Josh passed for 3,616 yards and 42 touchdowns as well as rushing for 2,055 yards and another 34 touchdowns in helping lead the Wildcats to the North Piedmont Conference Championship.

SCP 2016 DREW YOOS helped lead the Concord Spiders (12-1) to the Southern Piedmont Conference Championship and a State 3A #1 Ranking. Playing tight end for the Spiders, Drew had 26 catches for 437 yards and 3 touchdowns as well as leading the blocking in the Spiders high powered offense. Concord lost in 3A second round action to South Point in the NCHSAA 3A play offs.

Providence High School (10-4) play off run ended at the hands of Mallard Creek in a 49-21 loss in Round 3. Regretfully SCP 2016 JACK KING who helped lead the Panthers on offense and defense will not be able to participate on the field due to a season ending ACL injury. Jack finished the season on offense with 415 yards rushing and 32 yards receiving; scoring 5 touchdowns. On defense Jack had 38 tackles with an interception and a fumble recovery.

SCP 2015 HUNTER COLONNA was the Captain and helped lead Marvin Ridge to the NC 3AA Play Offs where the Mavs lost out in the first round. For the season tight end and long snapper Colonna. Hunter ended the season with 35 catches for 400 yards; scoring 3 touchdowns. Hunter lettered on varsity all 4 years of his high school career with the Mavs.

 SCP 2015 TOMMY BULLOCK quarterbacked the Mooresville Blue Devils to the NC State 4AA Play Offs before taking an early exit in round one.
