SCP Honors Coach Lou Presutti
SOUTH CHARLOTTE PANTHERS TO HONOR LOU PRESUTTI
The amateur baseball community lost a legend this past summer when the founder of the Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, New York passed away unexpectedly in July. Coach Lou Presutti touched the lives of innumberable youth baseball players who competed over the past 20 years in a Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament held weekly each summer at the birthplace of baseball and the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.
Lou was a close friend and supporter of South Charlotte Panthers Baseball and his grandson Matthew Stevens is a member of the South Charlotte Panthers 2017 team. Matthew was forced to leave in the middle of the Perfect Game World Wood Bat National 17U Championships upon the news of his grandfather's passing. "I found it rewarding that 17 out of 19 members of the Panther team had participated in a Dreams Park event as youth and all had fond memories of Coach Lou and that special time in their baseball lives" said Don Hutchins, Manager of the SCP team. The 2017 team rallied together, with Matthew and his family in their foremost thoughts advancing to play their way into the WWBA 17U Championship game.
In honor of Coach Lou the Panthers will wear the official jersey of the Cooperstown Dreams Park (All Dreams Park participants wear the official jersey while competing there) in two events this fall including the Dynamic Baseball Team Tournament; October 15-16 and at the Perfect Game World Wood Bat World Championships in JUpiter, Florida; October 20-25.
