HAWKS SOAR OVER ORANGE H.S. IN SEASON OPENER 15-4
Orange, CA (3-2-07) – The Hawks opened their 2007 campaign and cruised to a 15-4 victory using a 14 hit attack and taking advantage of 7 errors, 6 walks and 2 hit batters by the the Orange H.S. Panthers. After each team scored single runs in the first inning, the Hawks continued to score in every inning of the darkness shortened six inning game. John Lamb started for the Hawks giving up only two hits in four innings, both in the first inning. One was a bunt. After grabbing a 5-1 lead, the Hawks held off the Panthers threat in the bottom of the third when, with the bases loaded and 1 out, Lamb showed his best by striking out the next two Panthers looking. The Hawks then swooped back scoring four runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth. The Hawks amassed 14 hits including their first homerun of the season from Alex St. Pierre who also had a double and four RBI’s, scored four runs and pitched the fifth and sixth innings. Robert Refsnyder was 4 for 5, and Brad Paul was 3 for 3.

HAWKS ANNOUNCE 2007 SCHEDULE
The Laguna Hills Hawks Varsity announced their 2007 Season schedule which features 28 regular season games. The Hawks will start with a pre-season doubleheader against Woodbridge on February 24, and will open the 2007 regular Season against Orange High School in the First Round of the Newport Elks Tournament. The regular Season concludes on May 9 with a Pacific Coast League game against their former Sea View League opponent Irvine. The Hawks will compete in both the Newport Elks Tournament (March 2 through 10) and the Lions Tournament (April 7 through 11). Four doubleheaders are on the schedule, and non-league road games will include trips to Boysen Park in Anaheim, Blair Field in Long Beach, and Laguna Beach. Pacific Coast League play will begin on March 19 against University High School, and the Hawks will then play each league opponent once before they then play each league opponent in a home-and-away back-to-back series.
