LoCo Slams Samy's in City Tourney Game 1

Lumber Company cruised to an easy 14-4 win in 5 innings over Samy's to begin play in the 2003 Joliet City Tournament. Leading the winning effort for the Lumber Co were M.Wallace, 3-3, 1 HR, 2 RBIs; J.Filas, 3-3, 1 BB, 2 RBIs; S.Munday, 2-3, 3 RBIs; B.Petersen, R.Nurczyk, B.Munday, J.Behun and M.Staab all added 2 hits a piece. Lumber Company's second round City Tournament game is Thursday night, July 24th at 6:45pm against the Ballers on field #6. Results of the other competitive City Tournament games are as follows. Glory Days 8, Marcheloni's 7; Jim's Place 12, Lousy Pups 2; Mainline 12, 3rd Base 1; Ballers 7, Jim's Place 6; Powerhouse 19, Classic Construction 9; Glory Days 17, New Life 16; Roaddawgs 16, Mainline 1; Chico's 16, Uncle Richies 10; Deeznuts 23, Mulder's Moving 16 and Primetime 28, Moran AC 18. Winners bracket match-ups for Thursday, July 24th are as follows. Lumber Company's Newest Fan, Haley Elizabeth

The Lumber Company would like to congratulate Ryan and Colleen Nurczyk on the birth of their baby girl Haley Elizabeth. Haley weighted in at a little over 6 pounds. Congrats!! The video below is Haley with Uncle Bob.

Joliet City Tournament Bracket Out

Lumber Company opens Joliet's Annual City Tournament on Monday, July 21st at 7:30pm against Samy's on field #4. The LoCo is looking to improve on last years second place finish. There are 19 teams in this year's competitve division. First round match-ups on Monday are as follows. LoCo Records Forfeit Victory

Lumber Company won their JPD Tuesday night "B" league game by forfeit when not one of Kubinski Excavating's players showed up. The win improves the LoCo's record to 4-5 on Tuesday nights. Lumber Company's next game is Friday night at 8:30pm on field #6 against Uncle Richies. Also, please check back to this site tomorrow evening as the Joliet Park District's City tournament bracket will be released and that information will appear on this website.
Lumber Company travels to Michigan this weekend hoping to bring home a first place finish and that elusive USSSA "D" World Tournament berth. Lumber Company opens play in the USSSA "D" NIT in Sterling Heights, MI at 10:15am against Crew Softball from Redford, MI. A win at 10:15am would give the LoCo a 12:45pm game two. There are 37 teams in this weekend's "D" NIT action. Also going on at Sterling Heights' Liberty Park this weekend is a Softball Magazine's Bat Wars stop.
