The Empire Football League is proud to announce the Albany Metro Mallers as its 2006 EFL Champions. Albany won their Empire Football League title Saturday with a 39-0 victory over the Watertown Red & Black.
The Albany Metro Mallers defeated the Watertown Red and Black 39-0 to win their second Empire Football League title in as many years. The Mallers were led by the rushing of Sylvester Cooperwood (over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns), the passing of Scott Lawson (3 touchdowns) and the receiving of Macio Clinton (2 touchdowns). The Mallers are the first repeat champs of the EFL since the 2000-2001 Syracuse Vipers.
The EFL is also proud to announce their All Star Selections for 2006 (see link above):

The Empire Football League formally concluded its regular season schedule on September 23rd. The playoff format includes the top 3 teams from each division and playoffs are scheduled to start September 30th. The Empire Football League Championship will take place on October 14th at a northern division site.
The playoff scenario is as follows:
September 30th
-Watertown – Bye; Lake City at Vermont
-Albany – Bye; Broome County at TriState
October 7th
-Watertown hosts Sept 30th winner northern division
-Albany Metro Mallers hosts Sept 30th winner southern division
October 14th EFL Championship – Hosted by Northern Division
