Posted by Jim Allen at Jun 3, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Dodgers defeated the Cardinals, 10-3, in the Majors Interleague championship game on Thursday. The Dodgers were led by the strong pitching of Jonathan Elovic, who held the scrappy Cardinals at bay. The Cards made it to the big dance by edging the Astros, 4-3, in extra innings on Wednesday. After the Astros' Henri Thomas and the Cards' Robert Mufson battled to a 3-3 draw over the regulation 6, the Cards scratched out the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Last week, the Majors Dodgers, led by Tournament Team Manager Kevin Rafferty, emerged from the playoffs as the sole remaining undefeated team on Tuesday by beating the upstart Astros, 9-4. Congratulations to all!! It's been a great playoff.
