News and Announcements

The 11-12 NMB Team crushed the North Miami Americans, 10-0, in a mercy-rule-shortened 5-inning game. Hot on the heels of Henri Thomas's no-hitter, Jonathon Elovic "only" pitched a one-hitter, but also crushed two-home runs, the second a three-run shot that broke the game open. Elovic only walked one and struck out nine. Next on the NMB agenda: Bunche Park on Tuesday at Pepper Park. Go NMB!
Henri Thomas's second no-hitter of the season couldn't have come at a better time: the opening game of the 2004 tournament. Behind Henri's complete game and Wally Reynoso's three hits, NMB whipped the Ives team, 9-1. Henri also helped his own cause with a rocket double and a single, and Joseph Egozi got him out of a jam with a clutch double play in the third. All NMB players contributed to a real team win. Next game is Wednesday against North Miami American at 7:00 p.m. at Pepper Park.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULES, TEAMS ANNOUNCED

Posted by Jim Allen at Jun 16, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The 2004 Little League Tournament is underway!! Teams were announced on June 15, and can be found in the teams section under Tournament Teams. To those who made it, congratulations! To those all-stars who didn't make it, you're still all-stars, and if there's an injury or something else that eliminates a player from one of our teams, you may still be called! Last night, the tournament schedules were released. They are being posted on the web. If you want to see the whole NMB schedule, click on Schedules at the left, or Calendar. If you just want to see one team's schedule, click on Teams first, then go to the team you're interested in. Even if you're not playing, we hope you come out and support your teams. The 9-10 and 11-12 year olds are playing at Pepper Park, which is not far away at all. The Juniors and Seniors are playing in Homestead, and the 11 year olds are playing in the Keys. Watching and cheering for our team down there would certainly be a good way to spend the weekend!

All-Star Pins are In!!

Posted by Jim Allen at Jun 10, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The All-Star Pins are here! For those of you who did not receive yours, Jim Allen will carry them with him as he helps coach the 11-12 tournament team. Catch him at one of their games listed below. Congratulations again to all of our All-Stars!!
The LSU Tigers, managed by Brian Adams, lost to the Ives Cubs in the Juniors Interleague Championship at Ives on Saturday. By agreement, Ives forfeited the first game because they didn't have an ump. But an ump showed up for the second, and Ives edged the Tigers to take the crown. The Tigers already are the 2004 NMBOLL Juniors Champs, after having defeated the NMB Hurricanes 9-1 on Tuesday. Congratulations, Tigers!
