The 2005 Little League Tournament starts Monday, June 27. This year's district tournament will be pool play rather than double elimination. This is the same way we did it last year, except the championship round has been changed slightly. Briefly, one or more pools are created depending on the number of teams. There is an initial round where each team in a given pool plays every other team once. The top team from each pool (assuming two pools) then play a best two out of three championship series. (Last year the top two teams from each pool advanced, and then there was a playoff).
The schedule for MMB teams can be found on this site.

For the second straight weekend, the Bank of America Hitting contest and the Junior's all-star game has been postponed by rain.
We will try to reschedule prior to the contest deadline and the tournament start of June 27.
Previously, our majors teams had been selected to participate in a brand-new Little League hitting contest. Each player gets 5 swings on up to 8 pitches from a coach. He or she gets points based on how far he or she hits the ball. The scores for each team will be totaled, and the team with the best average will win. The winning team will get a catered suite for the team to a future Marlins game!!
Good luck to all the teams!!

Evangelos was also honored by FSN Florida's announcers in-game at the bottom of the 6th inning. FSN Florida sent Evangelos a 'goodie bag' and personalized certificate.
Congratulations, Evangelos!!
