We will have the mandatory All Star Tournament certification meeting 1 hour prior to the President’s meeting on Thursday, May 3rd at 6:30 p.m. It will be at the same room as the President’s meeting held at Helix HS. The easiest way to find the room is to take University Avenue and turn south on Lowell Street. Next take an immediate right (before the tennis courts) onto Highlander Way. Proceed about 500 yards and till you see a parking lot on the left. Park in the lot and walk up the walkway to campus. The meeting will be in room 130.

Please make sure you attend so we may get through All Star Tournament certification as mistake free as possible this year.

The majority of the games will be played at Murphy Canyon Little League's Little Damato field located at 4500 Damato St. San Diego, California 92124. The game scheduled for May 4th will be played MCLL's Santo field. Make your plans to come out and witness some exciting District 33 Majors Division Baseball Inter-League games under the lights.

We have had success with the CBI and the Spring Tournaments, we thought it was time to included the Junior Division in our mid season tournaments. District 33 is proud to host 2 Junior Baseball Tournaments, April 13th thru April 15th and April 20th thru April 22nd 2012. We have 6 teams from San Diego and 2 teams from the Bay Area (District 57) playing in the first tournament and 8 teams from San Diego for the 2nd tournament. The majority of the games will be played at Murphy Canyon LL Big Damato field located at 4500 Damato St. San Diego, California 92124. Other games are scheduled to be played at Serra Mesa LL Junior field, located at 3393 Kearny Villa Rd. San Diego, California 92123 and Patriot League Shira Field located at 7001 Murray Park Dr. San Diego, California 92119 (turn in at the park and head towards the lake. At the "T" intersection, go left and you'll see the field next to the lake)

2012 Little League Softball Day
Saturday April 14th

SDSU Softball Stadium

On April 14th, Little League International and San Diego State University would like to invite you and your Little Leaguers to attend the "Little League Softball Day." The event will be held at the home field of the Aztecs of San Diego State University in San Diego at 1:00 PM, when the Aztecs take on the Rams of Colorado State University. 

In order to promote Little League Softball, as well as the college softball experience, Little League Baseball and Softball has worked with various colleges and universities resulting in these institutions providing a "Little League Softball Day" at the collegiate level. It is on this day that young athletes of all ages will get to experience the game of softball at its finest. They will have the complete game experience from the warm up to the game-ending play.
 

A "Little League Softball Day" is designed to promote what participating in Little League Softball can potentially lead to. It will also provide a generous amount of exposure to the participating colleges and universities. This event could lead to an on-going relationship between the local collegiate programs and their surrounding Little Leagues.
 

On Game-day:

  • The Little League players, coaches and parents can attend the game for $4.00. Little League players are encouraged to wear their uniform shirt with the Official Little League patch sewn onto the left shoulder of their uniform shirt to be recognized. Print and present linked flier below for discounted price on game day.
  • Free Aztec Posters
  • In-Game Promotions and Prizes
  • After the game, the Little League players will have an opportunity to meet with the Aztecs where they can ask the college players questions directly and receive autographs. (These sessions will be limited to approximately 20 to 30 minutes.)

Legends for Youth Kids Clinic

District 33 Baseball and Softball players ages 6 to 16 are invited to participate in "Legends for Youth" Kids Clinic presented by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association at Murphy Canyon Little League's Big Damato field located at 4500 Damato St. San Diego, California 92124 on May 4th beginning at 6:00pm!
Former Major League Baseball players will teach you the fundamentals of the game in this clinic. Legends for Youth is a charitable program running more than 40 events a year nationwide, with the mission of promoting the game of baseball to America's youth and enforcing important life skills using positive sports images and personalities. There is no charge for this clinic, however, donations to the Legends for Youth Program or the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) are gladly accepted.  If you have any questions, please contact me at

Our annual District Dinner will be held on Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) beginning at 6:00pm at the Mission Valley Resort located at 875 Hotel Circle South, San Diego California 92108. Cost is $40.00 per person. This year's theme will be everything Mexican!!  Feel free to dress in theme.

A No-Host bar will also be available. We will also be giving out our District Awards to the very deserving recipients. The menu will be an Mexican Buffet. Sunday, May 6th; (1:05pm game vs Miami Marlins)

Little League players and families are invited to attend the 2012 San Diego Padres Little League day @ Petco Park May 6th (1:05pm game vs. Miami Marlins.) There will be a parade before the game and all Little League players will get a chance to parade on the field before the game. Baseball Bat Rule Changes for the 2012 Season 

On November 3, 2011, Little League International announced various Bat Rule changes which will go into effect for the upcoming 2012 season.  Each of these changes impact baseball bats only.  The link provided details the changes for each division of Little League Baseball as well as the actual verbiage to be placed into the soon to be releases 2012 Baseball Rule Book.  If changes are made or additional clarity is provided on how to enforce the rule before the start of the season the link provided will be the best method to use as you review the information.

The 2012 District 33 Service Award
Each year the District gives awards to outstanding volunteers from our local leagues. The first sets of awards given out each year are the District 33 Service Awards. These awards are given to individuals nominated by their league that has several years of outstanding service to their league as well as having impacted the District by serving the other leagues in some capacity, usually by being involved in tournaments or something district wide on their league's Opening Day. The District gives out a total of 6 types of awards each year. The rest of the awards will be presented at our District Dinner scheduled for May 5th 2012.
