2012 District All-Stars Tournament

Posted by Bob Diosdado at Jun 9, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The District All-Stars Tournament is underway. Please check the brackets below for dates and times of your game. Need directions to your game, click on our Fields & Facilities page to find locations to all of our fields. Be sure to check back often as information could change due to circumstances beyond our control.

Did you know that there are 5 levels in the All-Stars Tournament? The first level is District. The second level is Sections. The third level is Divisions. In Southern California, since there are many leagues, Little League has divided Southern California in half and have 2 tournaments called Sub-Divisions. After Divisions are Regional's and finally the World Series. The lower divisions, 9/10's and 10/11's end their tournaments at the Divisional Level.

If you would like to know all the dates and locations of the various tournaments, take a look at our 2012 All-Stars Baseball Tournament Levels handout, to see where the road to the World Series will take you.

Mike's Action Photos is our official photographer during the tournament, to view photos of your favorite team, just click on the Action Pass to the right and it will take you to his website.

Below are the All-Star brackets for each division and information that you will need if you're involved in the tournament. We will update these brackets each night during the tournament.

Clinic Requirements for the 2012 District TOC
Handout:
 2012 TOC Qualified Coaches List

I would like to address the clinic requirements for this year's District TOC. Since every league has submitted an approved safety plan to Little League and a required element of that safety plan is the attendance of clinics each team will need to meet that requirement in order to participate in TOC. The requirement is that all coaches and managers in our District are required to attend both a Coaches and Emergency Management clinic every three years in order to participate in the District TOC. One manager and/or coach per team must attend two required clinics for the current year. The first clinic is one that teaches skills such as the Big Al Clinic and the Waller Clinic for the big diamond. The second clinic is a safety clinic such as the Emergency Management Clinic that was conducted between the morning and afternoon sessions at the Big Al Clinic. At least once every three years coaches/managers are required to attend these clinics. In other words on a coaching staff of three, each individual will have had to attend each clinic in the last three years. And each of the two clinics will have had to be attended by a coach or manager for this current year.

Example 1
- A coaching staff made up of Manager Bob and Coaches Pete and Mike. If Bob attended both clinics two years ago (2010) and Pete and Mike attended both clinics this year (2012) they are good.

Example 2 - A coaching staff of Manager Tim and Coaches John and Sam. If Tim attended a coach's clinic in (2010) and a safety clinic (2011), and John attended both clinics in (2011) and Sam attended a coach's clinic in (2012) and a safety clinic in (2011). This staff would not qualify due to the fact they have no one who has attended a safety clinic in the current year.

Example 3 - A coaching staff of Manager Alan and Coaches Stu and Mary. If Alan attended both the coaching and safety clinics this year (2012) and Stu attended the coaching clinic in (2011) and Mary attended both clinics in (2012) this coaching staff would not qualify due to the fact that Stu has not attended a safety clinic.

Every coach and manager must have attended both clinics in the last three years and each of the clinics must have been attended this year either by the same individual or by separate individual. Steve Taylor has compiled a list of all the attendees from the District approved events for this year and has added them to our master list. Our list now includes 2010, 2011 and 2012; Please check 2012 TOC Qualifed Coaches List for your name. We will be checking each team against this list. If you cannot prove that your coaches fulfilled these requirements, your team will be disqualified at their first game of TOC. The players should not be punished and if the manager and coaches are not qualified the whole staff can be replaced by a staff that does qualify. If you feel there is an error, please contact me before you get to the field. If you have any other questions on these requirements, please email me at llcad33@yahoo.com
