Fall Friendly Game
Won 10 - 6
Our first game ever as a team, and we got behind early and came back to win. The Rockers scored 6 runs but only 1 was an earned run, but we hit .417 and were 7 for 7 stolen bases. The girls bonded playing an actual game, and after shaking off some nerves and rust, they put their heads in the game and believed they could win! Then, we went to the MU vs. Jeffco game to watch some of the past Diamond Cats players square off at University Field. It was a great bonding experience for the young Cats, and Coach Ehrleywine spoke to the girls and they got some time in the MU locker room. Great first game experience!
- vs. Columbia Rockers (Preston 12U) – won 10 – 6

In Loving Memory of Ryann K. Schmidt 5/29/1983 - 10/25/2009
On October 25, 2009, Ryann Schmidt unexpectedly passed away at the age of 26 from complications following a knee surgery. Ryann was the son of Donn and Sue Schmidt and brother to Keri. The Schmidts have been a part of the Diamond Cat family for many years. The Schmidts also have sons, Joshua, Adam and Nick.
Ryann was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, fiance and friend of many too numerous to mention. He will be remembered for his smile, caring heart and his love of life. Ryann is a true hero donating parts of his body so others may live. May the recipients continue their walk through life in the spirit of Ryann's heart and zest for life.
He was employed as a Residential Area Coordinator at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri; a graduate of McCluer HS (2001). He graduated from Missouri Valley College (2006) on a Soccer scholarship with a Mass Communication Degree. He played soccer and tennis while attending college. Ryann was currently working towards his Masters Degree while employed with Columbia College Campus Life.
He was recently engaged to Julie Freebersyser. They were planning their wedding together for 2011.
We offer our heartfelt sympathy to Ryann's family, and we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
