Shoot-Out Tournament Schedule - June 29th - July 1st

Cats,

We have had our whole schedule rained out. We got in one practice game with the Diamond Girls and then had a great time at the barbeque!

Friday, June 29th

all game rained out

Saturday, June 30th

9:30 am vs. St. Louis Diamond Girls on Field #1 WON 9 - 1
all other games rained out

Sunday, July 1st

all games rained out

Team barbeque was a great time! Thanks to Donn and Roger for barbequing, and Bill for running to the store! It would have been nice to play games, but we had fun hanging with the team. See you Tuesday for practice!

Heartland Showcase Classic Results - Father's Day Weekend - Kansas City, MO

Below are our results for the Heartland Showcase Classic. There were no Friday games for us, but we had several girls attend the clinic. Here are the results:

Friday, May 25th

10 am - 2 pm Showcase Clinic

Saturday, May 26th

12:30 pm vs. St. Louis Damage on HV 9 WON 10 - 0
3:30 pm vs. Central MO Crush on BSHS WON 5 - 3
5:00 pm vs. Poison on BSHS LOST 6 - 3

Sunday, May 27th

12:30 pm vs. Legion of Doom (Smith) on HV 3 WON 1 - 0
5:00 pm vs. Southwest Sluggers on HV 3 WON 7 - 0
7:00 pm vs. St. Louis Sluggers on HV 3 LOST 5 - 1

What a great weekend for the girls! They lost in the second tie breaker inning to the Sluggers in the semi-finals! It was a tough game, and we played our hearts out! A third place finish and we had LOTS of coaches watch us play! Several Big-12 schools, several other D-1 colleges, and many smaller schools were there keeping an eye on our team! Good job, and way to go, Cats!

Heartland Classic Results

The Cats had a decent weekend at K.C.'s Heartland Classic. We only won 1 of our 3 games played, but even though we finished 3rd in our pool, we got the bye and a 1st seed in our bracket because we only gave up 7 runs. During warmups for our first elimination game, the rains moved in and wiped out the day! It would be nice to have one tournament this year that was not in some way altered by bad weather! We had great games with the Olathe Rockets, KC Originals, and KC Wahoos.

Classic's Becky Duffin Memorial Scholarship Tournament - Champions 18U!

Congratulations, Cats! What a good tournament! We still think we are not playing our best ball, and we just keep finding ways to win! We won the low scoring games, and racked up a few runs in a couple of the others! Great pitching, defense, some timely hitting and great baserunning was the key! All around good job!
