2012 Western Region Junior Umpire Training Academy

June 16-22, 2012 @ Western Region Headquarters

The curriculum is designed for Little League Umpire’s ages 13 – 17 years of age. Each student will receive videotaped plate instruction throughout the week, plus instruction on plate and base mechanics for the two-man system used in Little League. Regional School Instructors, as well as Instructors that graduated from the Little League Junior Umpire Training School provides the same training as the adult week-long school. The school includes meals, dormitory style housing, (an instructor stays in the dorms each night to provide supervision), a supervised chaperoned trip to a professional baseball game with an opportunity to talk to the professional umpires who worked the game, and many more activities and fun. Registration fills up fast for this school, so don't wait until the last minute to sign up.
The class is limited to 60 participants, so sign up today! The total cost of the school is $300.00.  The school starts on Saturday June 16th with registration from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Graduation will be on Friday June 22th at 2:00 p.m. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend the graduation.
We suggest that leagues or districts may wish to sponsor their young volunteer umpires for this training. The local league/district, in return, will be rewarded by the information and experience that these umpires bring back from the school. They will be experienced and confident to equip, train, and mentor other umpires in your league or district. This will be a positive investment for your program as well as the student umpire, and you will recover your investment many times over.

For additional questions or information, please contact on of the school coordinator's John Mette jmette91@yahoo.com, Lee Batterman batblue@usa.com, or Martin Hoover martin_hoover@yahoo.com.
