The Mustangs had their first home game in a month tonight against the Ann Arbor Pioneers. Sam Pope started off the game with a breakaway on the Pioneer goalie who came otu of the net and knocked Pope out of the way. Laura Zima took advantage of the empty net and took a slapshot from the blue line to score the first goal of the night. Later, in the second period, Marie McIntyre passed the puck to Andrea Soloko who ripped a slap shot at the net. At first, it seemed that the goalie had stopped the puck until the puck dribbled out underneath her pads and into the net scoring the final goal of the night. Northville held onto their lead winning the game 2-0. The Mustangs face off against Mercy on Wednesday night.

The Northville Mustangs headed out to City Sports arena Wednesday night to play the undefeated Grosse Pointe South Lady Bluedevils. The game started quickly with GPS getting three goals in the first six minutes. However, the Mustangs were not about to give up that easily. Andrea Soloko took the puck all the way down the ice to score the Mustangs' first goal of the night. Just 12 seconds later, Sam Pope put the puck past the South goalie in the upper corner of the net making the score 3-2. The score remained that way for a few minutes until South scored again. At intermission the score was 6-2. Both teams managed to get a few more goals before the end of the game ending at 9-3. The Mustangs fought hard, but South is very experienced team and Northville couldn't seem to hold on. Great effort girls!

Northville headed out to Arctic Edge Tuesday night to extract their revenge on the PCS Penguins after a 9-0 loss the last time the two teams matched up. The game started off slow, but Northville changed all that when with 44 seconds left in the first period, Sam Pope got the first goal of the night. PCS responded with a goal of their own just 3 minutes into the second period tying the game up at 1-1. The Mustangs' Amy Cauzillo fired back a minute later with a goal of her own, unassisted. The score was tied up again when the Penguins' Lisa Ealy scored their second goal with 8 minutes left in the second period. The last goal of the game came again just two minutes later when Sam Pope had a breakway and deked around the goalie for the game-winning goal. The third period remained scoreless and the Mustangs celebrated their 3-2 victory over the PCS Penguins. Our next game is the 3rd against east-side rivals, Grosse Pointe North.
