Posted by Eric Rosenquist at Jun 26, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Congratulations to K-Deck who defeated Restore-All 9-1 in the "A" final, and to Amsted who defeated RBC Investments 2-1 in the "B" final. To see individual game results, go to the Schedules section of the web site and select "2005 Tournament" as the Season. A big thanks to Diane Underwood for helping out all weekend, to Jack Astor's for handling the BBQ & beer area, and to The Broadway Bar & Grill for hosting our pub night on Friday.

New Players Welcome!

Posted by Eric Rosenquist at Apr 14, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Our registration and draft are completed and the rosters for the 12 teams are set, but we're always in search of players to fill spots vacated by players who have to leave due to injury or personal reasons once the season is underway. If you're interested in playing, please fill out the appropriate form and fax it to 613-839-6580.
Returning players New players

The Registration Fee for a full season is $120.00 - either by cash or cheque, made payable to the "Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League" or simply "GCMFL". The regular season runs from May through August, with playoffs generally wrapping up in mid-September. There's also a mid-season tournament involving all of the teams near the end of June. All regular season games are played at the A.Y. Jackson diamond. Teams generally play one game a week on Mon/Tues/Wed evenings, although there are occasional games on Thursday nights also.

For more information, call Eric Rosenquist at 613-839-6580 or Charles Durning at 613-270-8851. Players who are on the spares / waiting list don't need to pay the registration fee until they're assigned a permanent roster spot. At that point, they pay a pro-rated fee based on how many regular season games their team has played. After the tournament, the fee is a flat one-half of the full season price. Players on the waiting list can be used as spares if a team has fewer than 9 of their own. They also get priority over new players in next season's player draft.
