Electronic Registration / Payment

Posted by Eric Rosenquist at Feb 14, 2010 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Electronic registration and (optional) credit-card payment is now up and running!

We would appreciate it if as many players as possible would submit their data electronically - it saves you having to fill out a paper form and saves us having to subsequently enter your data manually.

The registration web site is: registration.gcmfl.com. Once all of your data has been entered it will give you a link to the payment site in case you wish to pay electronically. Paying electronically will cost an additional $5 (non-refundable) since that is what it costs the league to have PayPal process the transactions on our behalf.

Players who can make it to one of the registration sessions on March 4th and 7th are encouraged to submit their data electronically and then show up in person with a cheque or cash to pay their fees and have a drink with other league members.

2010 Registration

Posted by Eric Rosenquist at Feb 10, 2010 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Registration for the 2010 season of the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League will be held at the Stittsville Broadway Bar & Grill on the following dates:

Thursday March 4th: 8PM - 10PM
Sunday March 7th: 7PM - 9PM

The Stittsville Broadway Bar & Grill is located at 1261 Main St. in Stittsville Ontario.

Returning players must be registered and paid in full by 9PM on March 7th in order to be eligible for player draft protection by their 2009 team. Stay tuned for details on electronic payment options - we should have something ready later this week. Fees remain the same as 2009:

$100 for new players
$130 for former members that did not play in 2009
$150 for returning players from 2009

All players may opt to pay for two seasons to receive a substantial discount on their 2011 fees - the 2011 season only costs $100 extra!

League play runs from May through August, with playoffs in August and September. All teams play one regular season game per week for a total of 14-16 weeks depending on the number of teams. Teams are also guaranteed a minimum of three games at the mid-season tournament in June.

Regular season and playoff games are played at the A.Y. Jackson High School diamond at 150 Abbeyhill Road in Kanata. Game nights are Monday to Wednesday, with 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM game times.

For more information, please contact executive [at] gcmfl [dot] com

There will be a captain's meeting beginning at 7PM on March 4th - just before the first registration session. An agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting, but topics are expected to include:

  • Strict enforcement of bat rules
  • Stricter pitching rules (ex. staying "in the chute", front foot stays in contact with pitching rubber)
  • Sponsorships
  • Tournament dates
