Lions split Super Bowl games
The Canton Lions JV squad completed a perfect season by defeating the Brighton Bulldogs 39-22 in the 2007 WSJFL Superbowl. Hollingsworth went on to score two more rushing touchdowns on carries of 16 and 33 yards. In addition, Jamal Eiland scored a touchdown on a 6 yard run. Other offensive scores included a 30 yard touchdown pass from Eiland to Scott Gring, an extra point pass from Devin Slominski to Jordan Ciciotti, and a successful PAT kick by Lucas Bunting. Defensively, Ciciotti scored on a 34 yard interception return for a touchdown. There were two other interceptions made by Jamal Eiland, and Brandon Lee. Other key defensive performers included a blocked extra point by Luke Denzer, and several tackles for losses by Collin Hall.
The Lions Varsity team fell to a strong Dearborn Heights Redskin team 37-13. The Lions grabbed an early lead, but were unable to match the offensive production of the older & bigger Redskin team.
