At the Football Awards on November 17th there were lots of awards to go around for the Bucks after their 10-0 regular season finish. Below are the Team Awards, PAC Awards, All Gazette Team and All Ohio Team selections.
Buckeye Football Awards
The Scholar Athlete Awards: Tom Vasel, Adam Harrison, Matt Dash, Adam Read, Ricky Scheman, Chris Reisner, Nick Tavernelli, Dan Lough, Drew Megrey, Chaz Jordan, Simo Kraguljac, Ben DiMarco, Curtis Gelles, Dan Novotny & Darrin Read.
Top Scholar Award for the Year: Tom Vasel, who carried a 5.0 GPA last semester.
Most Improved Player Award: Dustin Supan (RB), who came back after a junior season in which he was less than 100% due to a car accident. Dustin put on a display of offense not seen at Buckeye since the late 70's when Ron Brant was toting the rock. Way to go Dustin!
Iron Antler Award: Nick Tavernelli (LB); This award goes to a Buckeye Player that usually is a defensive stalwart. In his presentation Coach Kerry Cullin said "Nick Tavernelli was the cornerstone of a very good defensive unit". Congratulations Nick!
Golden Buck Award: Chris Reisner (RB/LB); This award goes to the who best exemplifies Buckeye Football both on and off the football field. Coach Chris Medaglia said "you can see the fire in his eyes when you look in them" when presenting the award. Congratulations Chris!
All Patriot Athletic Conference Awards
Stars Division First Team: Mike Arena, Dustin Supan, Adam Harrison, Adam Read, Matt Dash, Nick Tavernelli, and Chris Reisner.
Stars Division Honorable Mention: Chaz Jordan, Nick Maxworthy, Drew Megrey, Dan Lough, and Jeremy Musch.
