News and Announcements

Dear Players (and soccer families):

As a coach, one of the greatest thrills is when you ask your team to accomplish something and they go out and do it.  That is exactly what you did the past 10 days.

You went out and won the last four games guaranteeing a .500 record.

I am so happy for our senior class to have reversed the "losing season" trend.  The program has had some high points in recent years, but we have not had a non-losing season since 2002.  The 2007 team can be proud of this accomplishment.

I look forward to our second matchup of the season with Springboro.  They have had their way with us for some time and Saturday will be a great chance for us to reverse that trend as well.

Again, congratulations guys and let's have a great runout at Springboro.

For Soccer,

Coach Ric

FINISHING ON A WINNING STREAK

Posted by Jeffrey Thompson at Oct 7, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Dear Soccer Players  (and families):

We are entering the last week of the regular season with high hopes of finishing with a three game winning streak.  We host Xenia and Piqua this week.  Both squads have had less than expected seasons and will come into the match looking for victories.  Last season, they did just that taking home the win.

These last two games are very important to the program and changing our reputation:

- two victories will raise the team record to 6-6-4.....we have a chance to finish .500 for the first time in six years

- a victory against Xenia will give us a 3rd place finish in the conference

- two more wins gives us great momentum heading into the sectional tournament

Yesterday, I selected our first round opponent for the tournament.  We were the 14th seed of 22 teams (same as last year) and I chose to play an AWAY match versus Tecumseh High School.  They currently have a record of  6-4-4 and were the 13th seed.  They have very similar results against same opponents and will be a nice challenge for us.  The bus will leave at 4:45pm on Tuesday, 10/16.  If we win, we will play Springboro the following Saturday evening.

Lastly, Thursday will be our "SENIOR NIGHT" .  I want to take a moment and thank our senior class for their leadership and commitment to the program the past  nine months. I know that this has not been an easy trail that we have walked, but I congratulate each of you, David, Matt, Jeremy, Alex, Joel and Brian, for helping our program become betterI do appreciate your contribution and am thankful that you have been a part of Miamisburg soccer.

For Soccer,

Coach Ric
