ENJOY YOUR SUMMER
Dear Soccer Players (and family):
I hope that all of you take the time this summer to enjoy some time away from the game. Participate in other hobbies.....boy scouts, bike riding, summer jobs or just hanging out. A little time away will not set you back.
Here is something to think about....are you making choices that make you happy or joyful. You may think they are the same, but they are not. The great thing is that 95% of the time, we know the "RIGHT CHOICE" to make in any situation. The other 5% is what your parents and coaches are ready to help you with, but back to happy and joyful. When you make a choice that is for the moment...makes you happy right then, the question you have to ask yourself is, "Will I be joyful tomorrow that I made this choice". I believe happy is for the moment, but most "RIGHT CHOICES" will make you joyful day in and day out....no regrets, no loss of respect and complete trust in doing the right thing. I encourage each of you to make wise decisions this summer. Support each other and encourage each other to choose..."OUR BEST, FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME"!
Exciting news......our boosters have purchased 50 tickets together for the Saturday, July 5th Columbus Crew game versus the Chicago Fire. This is a FUN and small fundraiser and I would love for a big group of us to go together....they are first come, first serve......ticket price $ 22 each and they are in section 102....pretty good seats. After the game will be fireworks. Send me an email if you want to purchase some.
Any questions, let me know.

FOCUS........FOCUS........AND MORE FOCUS
Dear Soccer Players (and family):
I cannot stress enough that NOW is the time to be focused on your grades. The only thing that matters for your eligibility for the fall season is YOUR GRADES THIS FOURTH QUARTER!!! The only time to help your grades is now.....you must stay focused on doing your very best this quarter. Do your homework, study for your tests, do NOT wait to the last minute to finish your work. It is pretty simple.....NO D's or F's and you will be eligible.
Secondly, stay focused on your conditioning and off-season preparation. We only have 12 weeks until tryouts. You need to make sure you use each day wisely. You should be doing "BALL" pushups and situps every day. You should run a timed 2 mile every other week, you should run a timed mile every other week and you should be juggling and doing the ball routine every day!!!
Evening training has been cancelled for the next 2 weeks, but our seniors will take over for the month of June. They will call everyone to attend. They will have a conditioning schedule that will prepare you for July. I hope you attend.....it will be fun.

Second Session of Off-Season Starts Today
Dear Soccer Players (and family):
Today starts the second session of our off-season preparation. It is hard to believe that 7 weeks have pasted since we started....but they have and this next 7 week session will go by pretty quickly as well.
I encourage each of you to do something every day to make yourself better. YOU MUST IMPROVE for our team to have better results. Please utilize your workout booklet as a guide for the work that you should be doing each week. You can do great things in the next 7 weeks.
Starting this weekend, all returning players SHOULD receive a phone call from one of the seniors-to-be checking on your progress. These calls are being made to encourage each of you to make progress every week. Be honest when talking with our senior leaders, honor the commitments you make to them and respect them for wanting to improve our program.
Lastly, I want to remind each of you to try and do the ball-routine (it is in our handout tab) every day. It will increase your ball touches and improve your skills. Remember to keep your head up and watch your feet and the ball with your peripheral vision.

Coach Ric
