Dear Soccer Players (and families):

Just one quick line about last week.......wow that was a lot of fun!!!

This week gives us a chance to really make a point about what we can do this year. We play Sidney tomorrow night (be ready for bus at 3:15). A team we have not beat in 4 years, then host Troy on Thursday...a team we have never beaten and then the 5:00 away match on rivalry day versus West Carrollton.

IF (and it is a big if) we stay focused on the game at hand and play with the intensity we did last week....we can do something very special. We can beat some teams that have dominated us over the past 8 years AND we can solidify our #5 ranking in the city. You read it right.......we are the 5th rated team in the area behind the best programs in the Miami Valley:
1) Beavercreek.....also ranked 3rd in the state,

2) Centerville........our only loss this season and I hope we get a chance at revenge during the tournament,

3) Fairmont..........they dominated us in our 15 minute scrimmage,

4) Wayne............someone we have never beaten, but we do play later in the season

5) Miamisburg.....the team has only been ranked one other time during the 1986 season.

We started pre-season as # 7, first week # 8 and now week two in the # 5 spot....pretty exciting, but hopefully it is just the beginning of a great season.

Here is an amazing thought....at the end of this week our season will be half over. Tell me time doesn't fly when you are having fun. We must stay focused, stay drug, steroid and alcohol free, maintain our grades and eat, sleep and hydrate ourselves properly.

I can only continue to remind and warn our players to make the right choices in every area. They must make it happen by doing what should be done. They know the right choices to make.....they just need to keep doing it.
