MANY THANKS FOR A GREAT 2008
Dear players and families:
As the year comes to a close....A BIG THANK YOU to every person who touched our program this year. We accomplished so much this year and placed another brick in our foundation for excellence. We are on the edge of creating something really great.
How can we create that.......we must stay consistent in our desire to be great. It takes each player wanting to be better today than they were yesterday....doing something to improve themselves. It takes each player creating a winners' mindset....if you are able to think it and believe it, you can accomplish it.
The past two seasons we have received the following Lamber Awards (given by Dave Lamb, Dayton Daily News) as a team:
2007 Most Encouraging Team - Miamisburg closed the the boys' soccer season with five wins in its last six games to finish the regular season at 6-6-4 after a bleak start. The Vikings also posted a come-from-behind tournament win over Tecumseh to assure themselves of their first .500 or better record in seven years.
2008 Team with Best Momentum - Miamisburg maintained its growth over the past few years to emerge as an area power. Can the boys soccer team keep it up? The Vikings will graduate 10 seniors, but head coach Ric Campbell seems to be instilling a solid culture of winning soccer.
What does next year hold? The ANSWER lies within each player.....do I have the desire, commitment and belief that I can reach my potential.......will I work harder than I ever have before to become the player I DESERVE to be......the ANSWER lies within each player.
I look forward to speaking with the players and parents in a January one-on-one, our team meeting on Saturday, Jan. 31st and then starting our off-season workouts in February.
Enjoy your holidays and God bless each of you.
FOR SOCCER,
Coach Ric

A GREAT CLOSE TO 2008
Dear Viking Soccer Players (and families):
I want to thank everyone who was involved with our Cubs fundraiser this weekend. IT WAS A SMASHING SUCCESS. The unofficial tally is a bit over $1,750 dollars raised. This is the best we have EVER DONE at Cubs and I am so appreciative of everyone who helped. Those of you who did two shifts OR a DOUBLE shift on Sunday......A SPECIAL THANK YOU FOR GIVING ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!
We had every player who was in town help this weekend.....110% participation!!!
As we approach Thanksgiving this week, I would be remiss if I did not once again thank everyone who has been a part of this very special year. Our fundraising has been outstanding, our season was super and the volunteers have been plentiful. I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL FOR ALL THAT EACH OF YOU DO........WE ARE SO CLOSE TO BEING GREAT!!!
Connie and I wish each of you a safe and happy holidays.
