Brazoswood 57 - Clear Lake 54

Brazoswood 57 - Clear Lake 54

It was a good close basketball game with the game being tied 8 times and the lead changing 8 times (6 in the second quarter). Lake scored mostly from outside while Brazoswood scored in the paint at will.

Impressive defense at times by the Falcons allowed them to enjoy a 10 point lead after three quarters of play. Brazoswood defensive pressure in the final period really rattled Lake. Clear Lake scored 1 field goal (1 of 8) in the fourth quarter to watch their lead slip away. With 3:44 remaining in the final period Brazoswood broke the tie at 49 to gain the lead.

Allowing their opponents too many rebounds and poor shooting for the arch (2 of 16) were main contributors to the defeat. Paris Clayton led all scorers with 16 points.

Clear Lake 66 - Dickinson 47

Posted by Donald Wilkerson at Jan 18, 2011 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Clear Lake 66 - Dickinson 47

On the menu above the page "24 5A Standings/Schedule" shows the current standings for each team in the district. Springs defeated Creek last night to tie for first place in the district. Brook, Lake, and Brazoswood are tied for third place with one game remaining. Assume Brook defeats Dickinson and Brazoswood loses to Springs next Tuesday. Lake faces Creek at home and a Lake win would tie Lake with Brook for third. A Lake loss would mean a tie with Brazoswood for 4th place. Since Brazoswood defeated Lake twice it would make Brazoswood fourth if head-to-head is used to break the tie.
