2013 Varsity Tournaments
The Lake Varsity will play in the following 3 tournaments this season:
1. Carlisle/Krueger Classic (December 5-7)
Krueger Field House
2. Lufkin, Texas Tournament (Dec. 12-14)

3. Austin Westlake Classic (Dec. 26-28)(See hotel info below)

Booster Club Meeting Minutes - August 28,2013
Clear Lake Falcon Basketball Booster Club Meeting -
8/28/13
Coach Penders welcomed everyone to the meeting. He said that CLHS is one of the only Boys Basketball Booster Club in CCISD. He thanked the former Board Officers for their work. He introduced Don Wilkerson to the new parents who might not already know him.
He talked about the importance of the parents, Booster Club members and coaches, we are here to make a foundation of success for life for the boys.
He talked about some of the purposes of the Booster Club:
Raise money for:
travel expenses (Varsity attends 2 out of town tournaments this year) $2,000.00 - $3,000.00
provide dinner for the players when they travel to 'AWAY' games = $4,000.00 - $5,000.00
Video/Scouting = $900.00 per service
Television in the locker room (previous year)
Gear, shirts, equipment for the boys.
Some of the fund raisers he talked about were: Concessions stand, Sponsorships , Signs.
Coach Penders talked about how the school provided funds for the basketball program have decreased 25% since 2008 so it's important to make up that difference.
Judy Ricks (past Treasurer) gave the Treasury Report.
There is a balance of $636.97 - however $500.00 is dedicated to a Scholarship.
The District Audit will be done in September, 2013.
Kate Skol nominated new Board Officers. The members in attendance voted and elected the following new officers:
President - Gary Stenerson
Vice-President - Dave Culbertson
Treasurer - Sharla Ostrowski
Secretary - Joan Bolen
Gary Stenerson thanked the coaches and outgoing officers for their hard work. He asked for a few more members to sign up for concession stand duty on Sept.5.
Coach Penders and Coach Frye gave the following dates/activities:
September 5 - Concession Stand duty for the football game
October 12 - 3 on 3 Tournament
October 14 - First practice
October 19 - Carwash
Nov. 12, 2013 - First basketball game @ Houston Lamar
Nov. 15, 2013 - First HOME Game
Nov. 28-29 JV will play a tournament (all other teams will have practice)
Dec. 5-7 - CCISD TOURNAMENT - (CLHS is HOSTING the Tournament)
Dec. 12-14 - VARSITY - Lufkin for Tournament
Dec. 26 - VARSITY travels to Austin for the Westlake Tournament.

Coach Tommy Penders' 2013 Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls
This write-up is for the 2013 Summer Camps.
The camp will go a long way in developing individual fundamentals that will help your child perform at a higher level as well as establishing relationships with the Clear Lake staff. We look forward to seeing you this summer! Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions (361-655-7964).

The Camp is for boys and girls from next year’s first through ninth grades
Individuals will be instructed in the fundamentals of basketball: shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, pivoting, and defense
Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills in daily individual and team competition.
Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt.
All participants are covered through a group insurance policy.
The Camp will be held at Clear Lake High School.
The coaching staff will consist of the CLHS coaches as well as former athletes who enjoy coming back and working with the future basketball stars in the area.
Sessions & Times
Session A — June 10-13, 8:30 a.m. — 11:15 am for next year’s 1st through 6th graders
Session B — June 10-13, 11:30 a.m. — 2:15 pm for next year’s 7th through 9th graders
Session C — June 24-27, 8:30 a.m. — 11:15 pm for next year’s 7th through 9th graders
Session D — June 24-27, 11:30 a.m. — 2;15 pm for next year’s 1st through 6th graders.
Clear Lake HS Krueger Fieldhouse
Enrollment Fee:
$100.00 for one week ($85.00 each for multiple siblings) $160.00 for two weeks (7th, 8th, & 9th may only attend 1 Session)
The UIL allows only incoming 1st — 6th graders to attend multiple sessions.
Discounts available for multiple family members. Call for information.
Note: Gym will be open at 6:30 a.m. to 7;10 a.m. M-F
