Clear Lake Tsunami Crushes Clear Brook 67-34 to Win 81st Carlisle/Krueger Classic
A tsunami is a large unstoppable force of nature that crushes everything in its path. Residents in the Clear Lake area have never seen a tsunami. This year's Falcon squad may soon be referred to as the "Clear Lake Tsunami" though as they continue to crush most of their opponents.
In the contest against Clear Brook High School in the championship game of the Carlisle/Krueger Classic Saturday afternoon at Krueger Field House the Clear Lake Tsunami rolled over their opponents as if they were a force too strong to stop. Drake Green led his team with 18 points while Tournament MVP Will West and All Tournament selection Bradley George garnered 13 each.
With no doubt of the outcome of the game from the opening minutes the Tsunami displayed a vigorous, suppressive defense that perplexed their opponents. Combined with 5 of 7 downtown shooting from well beyond the arc in the opening period, it soon appeared it would be over quickly. And it was.
FYI: With only one three pointer shot in the fourth quarter the Tsunami was 8 of 19 (42%) from beyond the arc.
Will West was named Tournament MVP and Bradley George and Jordan Davis were selected for the All Tournament Team.
The latest TABC rankings still do not have Clear Lake in the top 25 in the state in 5A. That will change very soon.

Freshman B Team Loses to Manvel 50-37
After starting the season with an impressive 5-1 record in six road games, the Freshman B team’s homecoming was spoiled by an excellent effort by the talented Manvel High School Mavericks squad. The hot shooting Manvel team jumped out to a 15-3 lead in the first quarter. Although Clear Lake cut the lead to seven early in the second half, that was as close as they would get. Manvel finished the quarter with a 13-6 run that extended their lead to 14 points and Lake eventually fell by 50-37 score.
The Falcon offense was led by Trajan Marsh with 10 points including a three-pointer and 5/9 from the free throw line. Dominic Hudson added eight points with an efficient 3/4 from the field and 2/4 from the line.
The B team is next in action at 4 PM on Tuesday, December 10th against the La Porte Bulldogs in the Clear Lake main building.
