Survey - Summer Camps

Posted by Arnaldo Adorno at Jul 22, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hi everyone,

In partnership with the New York Red Bulls, Newfield Soccer Club has offered a summer camp the past two years for the children in our program.  In the summer of 2008 the participation was approximately 20 kids.  The participation for the Summer of 2009 was 16 kids.

The club would love to see the participation level in the summer camps increase.  In an attempt to reach this goal, we ask that you take some time an provide us with some input.  With this input we can probably make some modifications to make the camps more attractive and increase the level of participation.

Below are some questions we would liek to have you answer but feel free to add more.

Questions:

  1. Are you interested in a soccer summer camp for your children?
  2. Were you aware of the Newfield Soccer Summer Camp?
  3. Did your family participate?
  4. How was your child's experience if you did participate?
  5. If you did not participate, was there a specific reason (expensive, not interested, bad week)
  6. If you did participate, what did you or did not like about the camp?

Please email your reply to EMail@NewfieldSoccerClub.com

Thank you,

Newfield Soccer Board

Newfield Soccer Club News Release

Newfield Soccer Club Employs a Full time Director of Coaching (DOC)

Selden, NY (Monday July13 , 2009) – As we look forward to the Fall 2009 season, Newfield Soccer Club announces an exciting new partnership with reputable DOC Eddie Hackett.

The club will now reap the benefits of an on-site full-time Director of Coaching. This strategic move reaffirms the club’s dedication to player development in the local area, and the commitment to providing the highest level of training and development to the players, coaches and parents of Newfield S.C and the Middle Country Central School District.

“Newfield Soccer Club is very excited to be partnering with Eddie Hackett,” said Jack Catalayud, Newfield Soccer Club President.  “We are looking forward to having a full-time director of coaching involved with the club.”  Eddie Hackett is a well-known trainer in the area with a reputation for excellence. “I am looking forward to the new position with the club and the opportunity to help take the program to the next level,” he said.

For more information on the partnership, please email the Newfield Soccer Club Board, EMail@NewfieldSoccerClub.com

Graduating from the Cleats & Feets Division to the Midgets & Munchkins Division is like any other new experience, exciting and scary at the same time.  The kids move from a small field to a larger field.  They will now start to perform corner kicks, throw-ins, penalty kicks and etc.

To help introduce these new skills to our newest members of our Midgets & Munchkins Division, Newfield Soccer Club will be conducting a clinic.  This clinic will review corner kicks, throw-ins, penalty kicks and positions with these children.

The clinic will be held on August 20 & 27, 2009 at Stagecoach Elementarty School 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  Children in the Midgets & Munchkins Division (U-8 & U-7) are eligiable for this clinic at no additional costs.

If you are interested, please contact Bruce Berns at BJQBERNS@aol.com.

Letter To the General Membership

Posted by Arnaldo Adorno at May 25, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
To Our Members,
We wanted to take the time and discuss with you the new registration costs for the upcoming Fall 2009/ Spring 2010 Season.

It has been our club’s continuing endeavor to provide a quality program for our members at as low of a price as possible.  For the majority of our existence, we have been able to achieve this through relationships with the Middle Country School District and local representatives.  A huge assistance to our club, in keeping the registration costs low compared to the surrounding soccer clubs in our area and other child activities (dance, martial arts, football and etc.), was a grant we received from Suffolk County.  For the past two years, we have not received this grant.  Take that into account, and the increase in fixed costs (insurance, fees to LIJSL, referees, uniforms and etc.) we regrettably have no choice but to increase the registration fees for the Fall 2009/ Spring 2010 Season.

We truly understand that news like this does not help our members during these challenging economic times.  But if we do not take this step in conjunction with other steps, the financial health of the club would be in jeopardy.  In an attempt to reduce the registration cost, the club will credit your 2009/ 2010 registration fee in the amount of $20.00, per child, if you are a current club member and do not require another uniform.

We have spent sometime looking at our neighboring clubs and evaluating their programs and registration costs, and feel that the club provides a lot for the cost of registration.  Our registration cost includes 9-10 games in the fall, 9-10 games in the Spring, participation trophies, complete uniforms, professional training, a developmental program and more.

We hope this provides you with some insight on the club and the reason why the registration fee had to be increased.  We apologize for this and wish we had another alternative.  If you have any additoinal questions, please feel free to contact us through the club website www.newfieldsoccerclub.com.
Sincerely,

Newfield Soccer Club Board
