Thomas Jefferson's John Zeiler, Hopewell's Nate Guenin and Peters Twp's Dwight LaBrosse were selected in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

It has been announced that the Mellon Arena will host a great College Hockey event on Friday January 3rd, 2003 for the Penguins College Showcase !
GAME 1 - 5:00 PM
NCAA Division 1 matchup with the CCHA's Ohio State Buckeyes [featuring several Western Pa players including Plum's R J Umberger, Seton LaSalle's J B Bittner, & Elizabeth Forward's Mike Betz]
versus Princeton Tigers
GAME 2 - 8:00 PM
3-time defending ACHA Division 1 Champions Coach Joe Battista's Penn State Nittany Lions versus coach Dave Hornack's Washington & Jefferson Presidents [Both clubs feature several former Pa Hockey Interscholastic *Stars* ]
