The Cougars came on strong in the first half getting goals from Sierra Hartwell and Candace Newton and just missed on many other opportunities to put the game away, but going into half with the 2-0 lead, the Cougars must have felt the game was over. After Captains Alyssa Llanos, Adelina Martinez and Amy Hendel all stressed that the game wasn't over during halftime, the Cougars still came out flat and let the Sultans hang around the second half and with fifteen minutes left, the Sultans scored to make things interesting. But the Cougars with stood the challenge and came away with the win. Next up the America's Finest Classic after Christmas.

In the JV game, the Cougars won 2-0 on goals by Emily Steinberg and Jazmine Sanchez.

The Cougars traveled south to Chula Vista and played Castle Park for the first time in their history and won handily 8-0. JV IN BARONS FINALS!

The Cougars JV Team made an incredible run through the Barons Tournament, beating La Costa Canyon, El Capitan, tying Mission Hills, and beating Our Lady of Peace in the Semis to advance to the Championship Game. In the finals they played West Hills in an incredible game in which the Cougars played mostly without subs due to injuires. The game was 0-0 at halftime with the Cougars dominating play, but unable to put one in the net. In the second half, West Hills scored early and looked to just finish the game playing defensive. The Cougars continued to pound the final third of the field and finally with about 8 minutes left, EMILY STEINBERG hit a 35 yard blast that floated beautifully over the keepers head into the net to tie the game at 1-1. At the end of regulation, the teams went to OT and  in the second OT, West Hills scored the golden goal for the Championship. On the sidelines watching, Varsity Coach Charlie stated, "A great effort by our girls. I was very impressed with their efforts and the heart they displayed."

After two tough losses the Cougars faced D3 rival El Capitan in the final game for both in the Baron's Tournament and a rematch of last year's CIF Quarterfinalist match in which EC knocked out the Cougars in Overtime. The game featured the debut of offensive star Chelsea Jenner as the Sweeper and freshman Danica Ancell as the stopper. Both played extremely well and led the defense along with Alyssa Llanos and Holly Moody. Keeper Summer Bland had 7 saves, including a diving one to save the game in the 70 minute.

In the JV game, the Cougars won 2-0 over El Capitan and now wait to see if they advance to the playoffs. Next up Grossmont on Friday!!
