Playing their best game of the season, the young Cougars shutout the Number 2 Team in the County Granite Hills on play through 78 minutes, but it was two set pieces that the older, bigger, and stronger Eagles scored on. Eagles Seniors McKenna Waitley(University of Washington) and Ashli Sandoval (USC) scored on headers leading Granite Hills to victory. Coach Charlie stated, "By far the best game, we have played as a team this year. It was amazing watching. Most of the time we had up to 9 underclassman and most of them were Freshman and Sophomores matching up against all of their college bound players. A great effort. I couldn't have been more proud of them."  Ed Francel, father of Granite Hills Senior Taryn Fancel (University of Wisconsin) said, "They remind me of our team a couple of years ago. They're good!"  Yes they are!! Senior Night Friday Night!

After a tough 1-1 tie against Monte Vista Friday, the Cougars arrived at Mt. Miguel ready for a war against a confident Mt. Miguel team coming off an impressive tie 2-2 with Valhalla. Despite a 0-0 halftime, the Cougars were not going to be denied this night, and came out the second half fired up and when Freshman Paige Neville scored her Varsity goal, the Cougars quickly followed with goals from Senior Adelina Martinez and Junior Bethany Rangel. The goals were set up by great passes from Alyssa Llanos, Candace Newton, and Jenna Hughes. On a game where every Cougar made it into the game, including the Goal Keeping trio of Summer Bland, Hilary Gastrich, and Freshman Danica Ancell, who recored her first shutout. A much needed win and great effort by all. Next up Granite Hills!

The Cougars thought they were ready to play Valhalla and extend their unbeaten streak to 6 against the Norsemen, but Valhalla would not have any of that, completely outplaying the Cougars. Norseman Senior Lisa Marlow stated, "Tonight was our night, We were tired of losing to Steele Canyon, and we refused to lose. We really wanted this game and it showed." Coming out uninspired, the Cougars found themselves down 2-0 going into halftime, but rallied in the second half to draw the game closer on a beautiful through ball from Brittney Quarles to Melissa Saunders who calmly beat the Norsemen keeper to make it 2-1. But the rally was cut short when the Norsemen Freshman Devany Savage scored the game winner. Next up Monte Vista on Wednesday!image
