Steele Canyon High School Women's Soccer

The Cougars moved to 8-3-3 for the season, as they opened league play with a dominating 9-0 win over Mt. Miguel. The game featured 8 different players scoring and 7 different players assisting in a very balanced attack. Brittney Quarles opened the scoring in the 7th minute and was followed by goals by: Mia Jackson, Sierra Hartwell, Chelsea Jenner, Paige Neville (2), Candace Newton, Jackie Schneeman, Melissa Saunders. Assisting on the goals were: Chelsea Jenner (2), Melissa Saunders, Candace Newton, Sierra Hartwell (2), Mia Jackson, Bethany Rangel, Paige Neville. Summer Bland, Danica Ancell, and Taylor Hartz recorded the shutout, behind the defense of Erica Llanos, Christie Hendel, Megan Meyer, and Hannah Diem. Next up is Helix at home on Thursday!

After last years Alumni win, the Varsity Team stated not this year and won 4-1, due to mostly the horrible goal keeping of Coach Charlie filling in for injured Joy Bland. The Cougars welcome back Megan Varney 2004,Whitney White 2004, Sarah Diem 2004, Joy Bland 2004, Sarah Barajas 2004, Rebecca Sanders 2005, Suzanne MacNaughton 2005, Courtney Cleaves 2006, Alyssa Llanos 2006, Adelina Martinez 2006, Amy Hendel 2006. Making the after party at Round Table Pizza was Lindsey Simpson 2004 and Jill Feinberg 2004. A great night of memories and a lot of fun.
