Are You Ready For Some Football?

Posted by Joseph Contreras at Apr 25, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

As we just finished off the NFL Season, its time to start thinking about the 2012 Woonsocket Wardogs Season.

You may have heard about how this will be our 11th year in Rhode Island and 13th season over-all. You may have even heard about all the events and charity functions we take part in. But most importantly, you had to have heard about what it takes to be an active Semi-Pro Football Team for over 10years! It takes hard nosed football players with a team first mentality and a desire to succeed in the sport they love. Are you a skilled player with the heart of a champion and the willingness to be part of something that is bigger and badder than youself?

Are you a tough player who is willing to make sacrifices to play the game of "FULL CONTACT" Semi-Pro Football? Do you have what it takes?

OK Then...Now it's time for you to get involved and check out what the Wardogs are all about. We are committed to doing what it takes through hard work to not just get back to the playoffs, but to get THROUGH them.

Take your first step in joining a team dedicated to build a strong organization and to do what it takes to WIN!

NO GAME TODAY!

Posted by Ruben Costa at Aug 26, 2011 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

As Director of Officials NEFL, I am ceasing all operations in the NEFL this weekend based on the following. · Severity of the impending hurricane ·

The updated time frame for impact · The safety of both players and officials · The travel distance involved for some teams · The priority of players and officials to be with their families and attending to their homes Some teams have already cancelled their games and moved them to alternate dates. This most likely will impact the start of the playoff schedule. It is in the best interest of all teams that all teams start the playoffs on the same date. Rules are in place to address such situations.

1. Using Labor Day weekend.

2. Moving cancelled games to the end of the season Forcing teams to play under adverse conditions is not in the best interest of the NEFL. High School and College administrators place players and officials safety as the # 1 priority.

Bob Oreal, Supervisor of Officials NEFL
