Minutemen Win In Maine!!!

The Minutemen were successful in defeating the undefeated York County Warchiefs 28-6. Safety, Jay Silva #16, recovered a fumble and scampered for a 30 yard TD!!! Ray-Shawn Link, #82, scored on a 15 yard pass and scored 2 2-point conversions. A-Back, Captain Vernon James #28 ran a 10 yard TD. Quarterback Glen Johnson, #1, scored on a quarterback sneak and threw for over 150 yards. Despite the loss of Kicker, Dan Watson, Stefan Dunbar, #14, provided a lot of leg for all kick-offs. #40 Dudley Macharie served as the teams punter. Fullback, Jay Pearson #44, ran for over 60 yards and leads the team rushing with 300 yards. The Defensive had an incredible day. Only 30 yards were rushed and the Warchief passing game was halted by Minutemen Secondary. D-End, Anthony Neves, scored a pair of sacks and leads the team with 8. Hippo Goldsberg,CB #38 had an incredible day as well as Safety Jay Silva. The Minutemen are getting ready for their next game at home against the Leominster Razorbacks.
Great job to Big Jim for scoring the Minutemen's first Offensive TD!!! Great hands. p.s remind Jim of his condition after a post game party at Box Seats in Woonsocket.
Great job to Jovan for his fast footwork which created an impressive 85 yard return for a TD!!!

Minutemen Capture 1st Victory

The Red, White, and Blue were victorious over the North Attleboro Renegades 14-12. Jovan Smith, moving like the wind, returned a punt for 85 yards and TE Big Bad Jim Cournoyer scored the first offensive TD of the year. GREAT HANDS "JIM". Glenn Johnson threw for over 100 yards with big receptions made by Ray-Shawn Link,Bruce Denietolis, and Vernon James. Fullback, Jay Pearson rushed for over 55 yards while kicker Dan Watson, made both extra point attempts leading the Minutemen to victory. The defense came on hard with 2 INTS, one by Dudley Macharie and the other by Jay Silva. Numerous sacks were recorded. 2 by Anthony Neves and 1 by Aubry Souza. Ruben Costa, John Dean, and Dave Bishop combined efforts for the rest. Cornerback, Hippo GOLDSBERG, destroyed the passing game on his side of the ball. Great job HIPPO!!! The Defense has now blocked 5 consectutive PAT attempts led by #58 Eric Riley. The Minutemen are now 1-1 in their division and 1-2 overall. They are preparing for Sundays game on 8/26/01 vs. the New England Stars. 6:00pm @ East Boston.

from Interstate 95,take exit 5, at end of exit take right, take next immediate right(gas station at corner) onto John L. Dietsch Blvd. Follow road through the industrial complex until the first stop sign.Take left at stop sign.(this is Diestch Blvd.) and follow to Landry Ave. Take left on Landry Ave. and take left at first traffic light. Follow road to high school.
