SENTINELS ASK FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!

Posted by Ruben Costa at Aug 28, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Sentinel Organization is asking that that you extend your prayers to the McPeak Family. They lost their son, Darren McPeak in a vehicle accident on August 26th. The McPeak family are sponsors of the team and have been friends of Manager, Ruben Costa for several years. The McPeak family own "McZip the Printer" who handles all of the Sentinel printing needs and puts together our fantastic banners. Darren, 23, enjoyed all sports and especially loved football and hockey. He was a great person who is loved by all. We ask God to Bless his Family and Friends and to watch over his soul.

Best Wishes and a Speedy Recovery!

Posted by Ruben Costa at Aug 28, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
We would like to wish Mike Aubin a speedy recovery after suffering a dislocated hip during the game this past Saturday against the Rebels. No surgery was needed and he is expected to make a full recovery. We'll definately miss your athletic abilities on the field!!!
The Box Seats/Woonsocket Sentinels Golf Tournament on Monday,August 26th proved to be a huge success. 21 foursomes were present with approximately 84 people playing. Although the exact figure as to how much we raised is yet to be calculated, everyone who participated had an excellent day. The weather was excellent and course was in good shape. Special thanks to all of the sponsors involved and to "Steve Grogan" for being present on this special day!!! We owe a big thank you to Dave Gouin from Box Seats for coordinating the day.

Sentinels stonewall Merrimack Valley

Posted by Ruben Costa at Aug 24, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Sentinels stonewall Merrimack Valley August 25, 2002 WOONSOCKET -- Glen McCrory hauled in two touchdown passes from Rich Boss, and Woonsocket's tenacious defense shut down the opposing offense as the Sentinels shut out the Merrimack Valley Rebels 13-0 in yesterday's New England Football League battle at Barry Field. The victory is the second of the season for Woonsocket (2-3), which sent the Rebels (formerly the Granite State Rebels) to their fourth defeat in five games. Running back Jason Pearson of Burrillville was a bull, rushing for close to 100 yards and accounting for 160 yards of total offense. His production kept the Sentinels' momentum alive on both touchdown drives. Woonsocket opened up the scoring in the 2nd quarter when McCrory took a pass from Boss, flattened a couple of Rebels in the secondary and crossed the goal line 45 yards later. In the 4th quarter Woonsocket upped its lead on a 25-yard TD strike from Boss to McCrory. Mike Roch added the point after. On defense, the Sentinels recorded nine sacks and benefitted from the strong rushing of lineman Michael Williams, 8 tackles by Linebacker, Ruben Costa, great all-around play by linebacker Sherron Symonds and an interception by Glen Johnson. His first of the year. The Sentinels have a bye week this week, followed by two road games before returning to Barry Field on September 22 to face the Leominster Razorbacks.
