Hello and thanks for visiting our Website! Firts of all, I would like to personally thank you all for all of your support. 2002 was a great year!!! Moving the team from Bellingham,MA to Woonsocket,RI was the BEST thing for the club. We have already become a fixture within the community and have earned great respect from the community leaders. We have finally found a home. The Sentinels struggled record wise but excelled in many other areas. The press was very supportive. From the Woonsocket Call to the Providence Journal, from WOON 1240 AM to KICKS 106.3 FM, from Channel 10 to Channel 6, we were instantly welcomed into the State of RI. We were able to build great relationships with the local businesses who offered us free meeting facilities to free food. Our sponsors were exceptional considering we were the "NEW GUYS in the Neighborhood". The City of Woonsocket was so pleased with our group that they provided us with a free practice facility with lights. The Mayor and City Council even named a day after the Sentinels. Talk about making History!!! The ground work has been laid and we are moving foward. We are always seeking new players and welcome new staff to the Sentinel Organization. We have already secured last year's sponsors and support from the city. We will have the same practice facility as well as home field. We have even recruited a member of the School Committee to join the club!!! Our efforts of last year have also been recognized by our community affairs. *We donated $$$ to the Woonsocket High School Football Program *We were a team sponsor for the Woonsocket Redskin Pre-Teen Football Association *We raised $2200 for a local charity called the Milk Fund *We are supported by the local Lions Club *We were recognized as being on the Hottest New Groups in Woonsocket *We held a Charity Golf Tournament with the Box Seats Restaurant and raised over $4000 *The list goes on New for 2003!!! The Hot New "Sentinel Cheerleader Squad". This group will be run in conjunction with the Sentinel Organization. It will be spearheaded by Judy Sullivan who is the Aerobic Director from the local health club, WHR Fitness. Judy has years of fitness experience and was an avid Cheerleader in College. Her ties with WHR Fitness will ensure an indoor practice facility for the cheerleaders to train. The Team's Captain will be Alicia Lombardi who has 14 years of Cheerleading experience and has competed nationally in many beauty paegents. These 2 ladies will surely put together a First Class Semi-Pro Cheerleading Squad Together. A calenadar is already planned!!! Jack McCarthy-"A Wonderful Man"

Posted by Ruben Costa at Dec 27, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Founder and Co-owner of the Minutemen/Sentinel Organization has passed on. Jack a Die-Hard Patriot fan and former owner of the Boston Patriots, passed away on December 26th 2002. Jack suffered a long bout with cancer that was supposed to engulf Jack in April of 2002. The Doctors had given Jack 6-8 weeks but Jack being the great man he is, lasted much longer than the medical community had given him. Jack never sought treatment but looked to God for help. He prepared himself spiritually and would always state that he was ready to go on. A true warrior. His love for life and football made him one of the most captivating people on the planet. You could not help but listen with anticipation of what he would say next. For all those that had the privilege of knowing this man, you are truly blessed. The Sentinel Organization would like to offer our deepest sympathy to all of his family and friends. We will miss you and always love you Jack McCarthy. image
This message is to all players of the NEFL posted on the NEFL Website by League President Olivier Bustin. Player Releases Posted by O on 12/11/2002, 11:53 am Players who have fulfilled their contract and want to change teams must obtain a release from their previous teams. To obtain the release the player must have returned all equipment (i.e. pads or team owned uniforms) and paid any balance due (i.e. for uniforms or dues). A player should be given his release (the NEFL release form was enclosed in the packet given to each team at the start of the season) if he has met the above terms. Also player should be given their old contract along with the release as new teams can request both upon signing a new player. If there are problems that arise in this process, please direct them to the league office at nefl@newenglandfootballleague.com. Have a good holiday!
