Cobalts Duel to a Split with Hilltoppers

Vic Carreon threw a 6 2/3 innings gem and the CoBALTS' bats woke up in a 9-7 thrilling win last Thursday. Schweitz, Todd, Bo, Spriggsey and Bif led the charge offensively while Dougy Michelesen turned in a "Brooks Robinson like" effort at 3rd base.
Unfortunately, the combination of the bats falling asleep again and poor late game defense gave the Hilltoppers one back on Friday. Rookie, Dan Dorsey, pitched well in the defeat.
Upcoming: a tough Meridian squad on Wednesday at Caldwell Park.

TODD HILER (SS, Bats R, Throws R)
Batting over .500 for the season, Todd has stepped-up when called upon. He has filled the roll of both lead-off man and RBI producer as well as anchoring the defense with stellar plays at shortstop. In only his second year as a Cobalt, Todd has become a team leader.
Meet the Cobalts first half MVP:
#11, Todd Hiler.
