Cobalt Golf Outing A Big Hit !

Thanks to the 50+ golfers who participated in the 2003 Cobalt Golf Outing last Saturday. A sunny, 70 degree day (and free Bud) made the day perfect. To quote Mr. Martin Sr. "Great day, great eats, and great people." Proceeds will help the Cobalts again compete in the Roy Hobbs World Series Nov 1-9. THANK YOU for your support!!!image

Cobalts Ready for Ft. Myers World Series

In a 9 inning thriller played in Dayton Sunday, the Cobalts battled back against the Ohio Woodpeckers to Win 4-3 in the final game before the Roy Hobbs WS in Ft. Myers Beach. The pitching staff looked ready for the upcoming World Series with Glenn Hock, Brian Akers, Joe Spriggs, Steve Stigler, and Mick Pardee (yes, THAT Mick Pardee) combining to give up 0 earned runs. Stars of the game: Joe Spriggs (pitching, hitting, and 3rd base goal-keeping) and Mick Pardee who started off the 9th inning rally with a base hit. Mick then sucked it up to close out the game on the hill for the first time in 2 years. NEXT: Practice Thursday Oct. 23rd at Roselawn: 5:30 start 'till darkimage

After a 40 day layoff, the Cobalts got back to action against the Dayton Woodpeckers on Saturday. After looking a bit rusty in a first game 10-9 loss, the Cobalts came back to Win the second game 4-3 behind a typical Paul Krause, 5 hit pitching performance. Offensive highlights on the day were: Bo Stineman (3-6, 3 RBI's), Shannon Morgan (2-5, 3 RBI's), Glenn Hock (2-3, 2 RBI's), Tom Taylor (3-5, 2 Runs), and Ken Hatfield's game-winning 2 run double. Spriggs Takes Morgan in 40 Yard "Dash"

Never missing an opportunity to lay down a bet - the Cobalts on Saturday discovered who might be the slowest guy to wear the uniform. In a grudge match showdown, Joe Spriggs Monster beat the Vegas oddsmakers predictions and easily handled Shannon Morgan at a distance of 40 yards. To comfort himself, Shannon the Unshakeable, enjoyed 2 Fillet-O-Fishes and large fries vowing a rematch. Next up: Chubby Hobbit Races: Burgy versus Johnny Mederer image
