Mikey Taylor settled into a nice rhythem and allowed only 3 hits to a talented Colonels team (featuring former 'Balt Tony Schaffner).
Throwing the last 3 innings without allowing a hit, Lit'l T looked strong.
Big Brothers Tom and Todd Taylor lead the offense by scoring 3 of the 5 Cobalt runs.
Mike Wagner again was big with the RBIs knocking in 2.
Next up in the Championship Tourney: Winner of Aces and Montgomery Inn Tuesday night at 6:30pm @ Roselawn (wear gold jersey).

The CRC has not hosted a City Tournament for some 5 plus years but a return to this annual rite of passage brings back memories of past glory (and agony).

After spotting the Cheviot Patriots a 5-0 lead, PJ Eilerman settled down to throw 7 decent innings to get the Win. El Vic-a-tor Carreon closed it down with a scoreless final 2 looking strong in another key hold situation.
Playing on perhaps the nicest amateur field in the Tri State area (new West Hi), the Cobalts matched early metal blasts with the Patriots.
Then Brian Akers lead two mid-inning rallies with gapper doubles knocking in 2 baserunners each.
The Win over the Patriots is the 5th this year thanks to both teams pulling double-duty in two leagues this year...round #6 comes this Friday.
Cobalts Get Clutch Again in 5-3 Win over Stogies

Shannon Morgan did what he always does, goes out and gives you a chance to win. This night, he gives up only one earned run against the hard hiting Stogies and earned another big victory for the Cobalts.
After tossing the ball around the field and spotting the Stogies a 2-0 lead, the Cobalts battled back with big RBI hits coming from Pat O'Brien, Ricardo Ayala, and Mike Big Daddy Hatfield whose game-winner came after a freak arm blow-out.
On a 3-1 pitch, Daddy Hat swung thru a fastball and felt something pop...it was only his entire elbow blowing out of his skin. But, as old veterans do, M. Hat drove the next pitch into right center scoring 2 with two outs.
Thanks to the Umps who hung thru an hour plus of a lightning delay to allow this game to get played...good job boys.
Next up: Roy Hobbs action vs. Cheviot Patriots 9am Sun. at West Hi.
