Chiefs, Bearcats rescheduled

Saturday's rained-out second half of a doubleheader between host Truro Bearcats and the Sackville Beaverbank Physio Chiefs has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Doucette gets closer to record

Dartmouth Moosehead Dry player-coach Darren Doucette belted his 13th home run of the season to help his team beat visiting Truro Bearcats tonight. Doucette is now four homers shy of the league record, which has stood since the inaugural NSSBL season in 1977. The Dry have six games to go. Doucette had seven RBIs on the night, giving him 56 for the season. The league record in a season is 79, by Truro's Bruce Joshua in 1996. Heavy rains and thunder in the Annapolis Valley forced the postponment of tonight's game between host Kentville Wildcats and the Halifax Pelham Canadians. When a make-up date has been confirmed, it will be posted on this site.

Chiefs, Bearcats try for two but get one

Rain during the day forced the postponment of the second half of a doubleheader between host Truro Bearcats and the Sackville Beaverbank Physio Chiefs. No make-up date has been set. After the TAAC Grounds dried off in the afternoon, they were able to get the opener in tonight, with Truro prevailing 9-3.
