Sackville to return in 2006

Posted by Jody Jewers at Nov 26, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League is pleased to announce the return of the Sackville Chiefs for the 2006 season. The Chiefs are back after taking a year's leave of absence in 2005, and were members of the NSSBL from 1995 through 2004. The Sackville team executive has brought in former Dartmouth Moosehead Dry player Greg West as head coach. Greg is a former member of the Nova Scotia Youth Selects and Nova Scotia Canada Games teams, and played for Dartmouth from 1993 to 2005, winning two Canadian and 10 Nova Scotia senior championships. Greg also has experience as a coach at the university level with Saint Mary's University in 1993 and 1994. "The Sackville organization has always been one of the strongest executives in our league," said NSSBL president and chief administrative officer Jim McEachern. "When they stated they needed the year's leave to do some reorganizing, I knew they would be returning stronger and with plenty of enthusiasm. With the addition of a quality person and great baseball resource in Greg West, they have taken a big step in returning as a key and strong club in what is already a very competitive league. I look forward to Sackville's return to our league."
