Sooners sweep Dry, Canadians close in on Bearcats

The Sydney Sooners took both ends of a doubleheader from host Dartmouth Moosehead Dry in a battle for second place, and the Halifax Pelham Canadians moved into a tie for the fourth and final playoff position with a key home victory over the Truro Bearcats.

The Sackville Chiefs posted back-to-back wins for the first time this season, edging the Halifax Pelham Canadians in an extra inning.

The Sackville Chiefs needed 11 innings to edge host Truro Bearcats, while the Kentville Wildcats scored eight runs in the fifth inning en route to a win over the Halifax Pelham Canadians in a game called after six innings because of fog.
