Dartmouth clinches top spot, Sydney out of playoff contention
The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry secured the regular-season pennant and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a doubleheader sweep of the Sydney Sooners this afternoon at Susan McEachern Memorial Field in Sydney.
Dartmouth won 12-2 in seven innings in Game 1, and 8-5 in Game 2.
The losses eliminate Sydney from the playoff picture and clinch the fourth and final playoff berth for the Truro Bearcats.

Today's doubleheader between the Sydney Sooners and Dartmouth Moosehead Dry has been postponed because of rain.
The teams have scheduled a make-up doubleheader for Sunday, July 27 at 11 a.m.
Dartmouth downs Sydney
The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry took advantage of some miscues by the Sydney Sooners en route to a 12-1 victory in their three-game weekend series opener tonight at Susan McEachern Memorial Field.
Sydney's loss means the Kentville Wildcats clinch a playoff berth.

Canadians down Bearcats
The Halifax Pelham Canadians defeated host Truro Bearcats 9-5 tonight at the TAAC Grounds in a make-up game from June 17.
