Dartmouth native Codey Shrider has made quite an impression in his first season in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League and is this week’s winner of the Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week Award. Shrider, who will be returning to Allan Hancock Community College in Santa Maria, California, just north of Los Angeles, for his sophomore year, played a big role in the Kentville Wildcats’ 3-game sweep of the Sydney Sooners. He came on in relief in the 8th inning of the first game of the series to get a save in the Wildcats’ 11-10 win and then scattered 9 hits in a complete game victory on Sat. in a 6-5 victory. This is his first career win in the NSSBL. He also had a double and a single in the game to help his own cause.

Other players considered for the award were the Sooners’ Derrick Aucoin, Halifax’s Adam Lucas, and the Dry’s Chris Head
