Paul Doucette of the Sydney Sooners has been chosen as the Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League. The veteran pitcher/first baseman played a huge role in all 3 games won this past weekend by his Sooners over the Kentville Wildcats.

Doucette took to the mound in the first game of the series and threw a complete game, scattering 9 hits over the nine innings. In the second game, Doucette stroked a single in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring Beau Chiasson with the running run in a 2-1 victory. Then in game 3 with the score tied at 1-1 in the 11th, Doucette hit a ground ball with the bases loaded, teammate Cory Christie beat the throw to the plate, and the Sooners escaped with another 2-1 win.

Other players considered for the award were Christie, Kenny Long of the Sooners, the Wildcats’ Trevor Wamback, and the Dry’s Colin Johnson
