Wildcats Spoil Sooners Home Opener
Kentville Wildcats won 8-4 in Sydney.
Kentville starter Shane Conrad calmed down after the Sooners’ big third inning and pitched into the eighth before being relieved by Cody Shreider they combined for 11 strikeouts.
At the plate, Kentville was led by David MacIntyre had a double, two singles and two runs batted in. Rob Shepperd added a double and two singles and Billy MacKenzie cracked a double and a single.
Sydney bats were led by Matt Denny who had a double and a single and Cory Christie who smacked a two-run home run in the third inning. Justin Brewer picked up the loss.
The teams return to action today at noon. In other NSSBL action today Truro will visit Mainland Common to take on the Pelham Canadians. Game time is 2pm.
Wildcats and Sooners Split the double header
Kevin Nichols made his first appearance of the 2012 season and it was a great one. Nichols threw a 3-hit shutout as the Wildcats won 7-0 in game 1 Saturday.
Game 2 saw Anthony Ianetti pick up his 3rd win of the season as the Sooners won 3-2.

The Halifax Pelham Canadians used a 7-run fourth inning to break a 3 game losing streak.
