Iain LaPointe's two-run single was the big blow in a three-run 10th inning as the Truro Bearcats put some distance between them and the Halifax Pelham Canadians in the battle for the fourth and final playoff position.

The Fredericton Royals maintained an undefeated record in interleague play, improving to 3-0 with a 9-0 shutout over host Sackville Chiefs this afternoon.
